STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In recent times stress and work-life balance is considered as the most important problem of the mind
which does not allow the individuals to think about their work, family and their responsibilities
especially for women. Working Women face many physical as well as psychological problems during
work hours and fail to balance their work and personal life. Work–life balance is a concept including
proper prioritizing between work and lifestyle. In today’s competitive environment, work life balance
and stress management for women employees is highly desirable and if there is no job satisfaction and
regularity in life, it can create a problem for working women. Stress of work life balance is seen in
every corner of the world which occurs to everyone. It becomes critical when there is no job
satisfaction. Work life balance requires, getting stability between professional work and personal
work, so that it reduces friction between official and domestic life. The final performance of any
organization depends on the performance of its employees, which in turn depends on several factors.
The advent of new technological revolution spread through all walks of life coupled with
globalization, privatization policies has drastically changed the conventional patterns in all fields. The
Non-Banking Financial companies is of no exemption. The Non-Banking Financial companies is one
among the important sectors of a nation and certainly this sector and its Women employees need to
safeguard from the abnormal and unwanted stress. Because, their role is continuously as well as
constantly required to a nation for its constant growth and development. Similarly the Non-Banking
Financial companies has to concentrate more on designing of suitable stress coping mechanisms for
off-load the unwanted stress of their Women employees to ensure the better performance. . An
empirical study is conducted to analyze whether working women of Non-Banking Financial
companies have stress and work life balance in their life with special reference to Coimbatore city.
The intention of the study is to find whether the work environment,role overload, promotions
policies, personal inadequacy and coping strategies are having impact towards stress
management of women employees in Non-Banking Financial Companies?
