2. Calculate the number of moles of the following substances;

3. Empirical & Molecular Formula calculations
1. Calculate the empirical formula of a compound with 40% K, 28% Mn and 32% O.
2. A compound is found to contain 64.80 % carbon, 13.62 % hydrogen and 21.58 % oxygen.
The molecular weight for this compound is 74.14 g/mol. What is its molecular formula?
3. A compound has 19.3% Na, 26.9% S, and 53.8% O. Its molar mass is 238 g/mol. What is its
molecular formula?

4. Express these numbers in Scientific Notation:

5. Convert the following


a. 25 cm in to inches

7. Define density & specific gravity. Mention its importance in medical field.

8. Write the Name, symbol, atomic number, atomic mass of elements with atomic
number1-50.

9. What are d and 'f'-block elements. Mention their properties.

10. Explain ionization energy and electronegativity with examples. How it varies in groups
and periods?
