Department Store

(Salesperson) Good afternoon, may I help you?

(Lucy) I’m just looking, thank you.
(John) Hi honey, have you found anything yet?
(Lucy) Yeah, but I don’t think it will fit you; they only have small size… Excuse-me, ma’am?
(Salesperson) Yes?
(Lucy) Would you mind checking if you have this brown pullover in a medium or large size?
(Salesperson) No problem, ma’am, is there anything else that you want me to get for you?
(Lucy) Well, since you’ve asked, do these pants come in black? And…, this jacket, can I get a
discount on it, ‘cause look! There’s a stain here, see?
(Salesperson) I will check those things for you ma’am. I’ll be right back!

(Salesperson) Ma’am?
(Lucy) Yes?
(Salesperson) Here, I’ve got a large one of the brown pullover, but the only pants available come in
beige, khaki and green.
(Lucy) Hmmm. I won’t take the pants then. How about the jacket?
(Salesperson) Oh, our manager offered you a 10% discount over the tag price of the jacket.
(Lucy) That’s great! Thank you!
(Salesperson) You’re welcome, ma’am! The cashier is over there. Have a nice day!
(Lucy and John) Thanks a lot!

(Cashier) Well, that’s $25.99 for the pullover… and $50 for the pants.
(Lucy) I’m sorry, but the saleswoman offered me 10% off in this jacket!
(Cashier) Oh yes, that’s right. Sorry! That’ll be $50 minus 10% … let’s see…$45 is the final price
of the jacket. The total price is $ 70,99. Cash or credit?
(Lucy) Do you take Visa?
(Cashier) Sure![…] Here’s your card, ma’am and your receipt! Thanks for shopping at Macy’s and
have a nice day.
(Lucy) Thanks. You too.
