METHOD OF STATEMENTS.

1. SITE CLEARING AND EXCAVATION WORK.

1.1 SITE CLEARING.

• Carry out site demarcation and identification of affected area to be cleared.
• To clear all trees, shrub and vegetation using hand tools, chainsaw and other mean
necessary.
• To cut and cart away all trees, vegetation, shrubs and undergrowth within limit of
construction works using lorry as required to the contractor’s dump site out of site
area.

1.2 EXCAVATION AND RE - PROFILE SLOPE.

• Surveyor to carry out survey work and provide reference point for excavation work.
• Excavation work to be carried out using excavator and alls excavated material to be
taken out to contractor’s dump site.
• The gradient and level of each slope should follow as construction drawing.
• The excavation works include providing platform at proposed level for all related
reinforced wall.

2. GEOCELL.

• Upon completed works of soil nailing at designated area, slope surface protection start.
• 100mm thick of geocell lay on the top of slope surface.
• Ensure that the geocell is properly lay on top of the slope surface. The geocell should be
diagonally open as per construction drawing.
• In case of side to side geocell placement, tie both geocells with cable tie as shown in
drawing.
• 600mm length R6 J-pin is used as reinforcement for the geocell at spacing as shown in
the construction drawing depending on slope angle. The J-pin reinforcement is to be
grout with cement grade 30 mix.
• Prior to hydroseeding, fill the geocell with soil.

3. HYDROSEEDING.

• The required areas to be treated are to be marked and verified prior to any treatment.
• The marked areas stated in the above are then scarified where needed.
• Fibromat will be laid on top surface of soil.
• Our method of treatment is by manually. This treatment will provide a conducive
environment for vegetation growth together with rapid surface fibromat stability
control.
• Watering and fertilising will be carried out from time to time when required, depending
on the actual site condition Subsequent field checking & monitoring will be carried out
at 2 – 4 weeks interval as required at earlier stage and 4 – 6 weeks at later stage.
• Site condition growth of grass will be monitored closely. Any localised site problem that
affects the growth of vegetation, will be monitor. The respective solution will be devised
and the proper amelioration will be carried out to achieve healthy growth of the
vegetation on the affected areas.

4. DRAINAGE AND R.C SUMP.

 To carry out joint site demarcation to determine the exact location and alignment of
surface drainage and R.C sumps.
 Demolish related existing drain (if necessary) and remove all unsuitable material.
 Excavation will follow the depth and profile as stated in the construction drawing.
 Excavate trench to the required depth. Check invert level and alignment of the drainage
to ensure required gradient is achieved before preparation of concrete base.
 Lay 50mm thick of lean concrete as base concrete except for roadside drain and berm
drain.
 Once base is prepared, install the reinforcement as per construction drawing. The cover
of 25mm for reinforcement should be provided.
 Prior to concreting work, the installation to be check and confirm by Clerk of Work / Site
Officer.
 Mixture of concrete grade 25 is used for concreting work.
 To carry out joint final survey upon completion of drainage works.
 All specification for installation of reinforcements and concreting work should follow as
per construction drawings.

5. SPRAY CONCRETE.

 Determine the area to be treated.

 Loose materials will be cleared and the slope will be trimmed.
 Lay 2 layer of BRC A6 at the surface and install 1.5m length L-shaped dowel at 2.0m c/c.
The L-shaped holes should be grout with grout Grade 30.
 50mm diameter perforated PVC weep holes, 200mm long wrapped with geotextile
fabric is then installed at 2.0m c/c.
 Cement and sand are thoroughly mixed by concrete mixer.
 The cement-sand mixture is fed into a special mechanical feeder of the delivery
equipment.
 The mixture is metered into the delivery hose by a feed wheel or distributor.
 Thus material is carried by compressed air through the delivery hose to a special nozzle.
Water is introduced to the nozzle with pressure and intimately mixed with the other
ingredients.
 The mortar is jetted from the nozzle at high velocity onto the surface until 100mm thick
sprayed concrete is achieved.
 To avoid sagging and bleeding, the spray work shall be built-up in successive layers, each
layer generally not exceeding 50mm in thickness. The mortar shall cover the fabric
reinforcement to a depth of at least 30mm.
 All rebound and other loose material shall be removed by air jets or other suitable
means from the surface of each layer as work proceeds.
 Construction detail should follow drawing.

6. ROCKFILL.

 Excavation will be in benches. Depth and profile as per drawing.

 Loose and unsuitable material will be remove and dispose off site.
 Construct the concrete slab with concrete grade 25 with double layers of BRC A8 as per
drawing.
 Prior to rockfill work, install 75mm diameter perforated subsoil drain wrapped with non-
woven geotextile at 3m c/c spacing. The discharge channel should be provide.
 Lay 300mm thick sand as separator including installation of geotextile TS50.
 Then, 50mm - 150mm thick compacted rock will be laid on top of the geotextile covering
the whole slope and should be place uniformly to form 1V:1H rockfill slope.
 The work for sandfill and rockfill should be done simultaneously staggered until reach top
of slope.

7. GABION WALL.

 Remove and excavated for base construction.

 Construct 500mm thick crusher run base.
 Prior to construction of base, lay geotextile as separator.
 Then, palce the 1.0m x 1.0m x 1.0m coated gabion cage with rock fill as per drawing.
 Once completed, fill the back of gabion wall with granular fill.
 Geotextile separator should be installed prior to fill work.
 300mm thick top soil then place on top of the granular fill and close turf.
 The construction of new gabion wall should be connected with existing gabion wall.

8. STONE PITCHING.
 Determine the area to be treated.
 Loose materials will be cleared and the slope will be trimmed.
 Lay non – woven geotextile Grade TS30 as separator.
 Laid on a cement mortar bed with the spaces between stones.
 Filled with cement grout of the same compostion as the mortar (grouted stone
pitching).
 All specification for installation of reinforcements and concreting work should follow as
per construction drawings.
