ELICIT:
At the start of the lesson, the teacher will pose a question.
Question: When there is power interruption/brownout, what do you use in order to see things
around you? ( flashlight, candle, kerosene lamp)

ENGAGE
The teacher will show a video clip about sources of light and ask the learners to remember the things
shown in the video.
After the video presentation, ask the class what they know about light.
EXPLORE
The teacher will group the class into four (4) groups and instruct the learners do Lesson 1 Activity 1
in their Learners Material in Science 3 pp. 137-138. Remind them the Things To Remember in doing
the activity.

EXPLAIN
1. After the activity, the learners will post on the board the manila paper of each group. Give
each group 2-3 minutes to report their answers.
2. The teacher will use the rubrics on Presentation of Outputs ( See Attachment).
3. Have them name other things that give off light.
4. Show other pictures to learners.
5. Differentiate natural source from artificial source of light.
ELABORATE
The teacher will summarize the lesson by asking the following questions:
 What are the different sources of light?
 What is the difference of natural source of light from artificial source of light?
 What is the main source of light?
