EXPERIMENT No: 5

TITLE:
“TO CONVERT COORDINATE SYSTEM OF A MAP USING GIS Arc SOFTWARE”
INTRODUCTION:

 Change the coordinate system of the shapefile with the sample extension.
A. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the ..\esri\av_gis30\arcview\samples\ext folder.
B. Copy the file named prjctr.avx.
C. Paste the file into the . .\esri\av_gis30\arcview\ext32 folder.
D. In ArcView, select Extensions from the File menu.
E. Check the box for the Projector! Extension.
F. Click OK.
B. Make the view active and select Properties from the View menu.

1. Set the Map units for your data and click OK.
2. Make the theme to be projected active.
3. Click the Change Projection button.
4. Specify an input projection and Click OK.
5. Specify the output units and click OK.
6. Specify the output projection and click OK.
7. Follow the directions in the remainder of the dialog boxes.

RESULTS:
Change the coordinate system of your shapefiles, including projections and datum.

COMMENTS:
Shapefile projection Utility. You can use this utility to change the coordinate system of your shapefiles,
including projections and datums. This document contains several examples demonstrating how to use
the utility.
