Target Market Development Lesson Plan

This lesson plan template outlines a 80 minute lesson on target market development. The purpose is to help students understand how a company's target market affects their use of the 4Ps of marketing. Students will be divided into groups to research and develop marketing personas for different products based on an understanding of the target market and customer segments. They will then apply these concepts to the two products they have chosen for their own marketing plans. The lesson involves a hook using a Red Bull commercial, lecture and discussion on target markets and market research, an activity where students develop marketing personas in groups, and individual work applying the concepts to their marketing plans.

Differentiated Instruction (accommodations, adaptations, extensions, other): How will you plan for students
who have diverse learning abilities/behaviour or require enrichment?
My perception is that no students have obvious learning disabilities. However, if required students that do
not wish to discuss verbally with the class, will be allotted time to write their participation on small pieces of
paper.
For the two students that seem to excel in this classroom, they will be split up into two of the 4 working
groups to help facilitate the other student’s learning. They will also have time to work on their personal
assignments at the end of class.
