The Caroline, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot County Arts Councils are holding a poetry contest open to residents and employees of those counties. The contest accepts unpublished poems up to 20 stanzas or 3 pages in length. Poems will be judged in 4 categories based on age. First, second and third place prizes of $100, $50 and $25 respectively will be awarded in each category. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2012. Winning entries will be notified in early April and asked to read their work at an awards event.
