I observed that this school has a daily reading session (Guided reading). It called (Read-
Write inc) It's a reading and a writing session, but they focus more on the reading. Every
week they have different letters. For example, when they have the letter "H" first, they
start with showing the students the forming of the letter and how does it looks like, For
each letter, they have some sentences that remind the child of the letter and to make it
easier for them to read and write the letters. The letter H sentence is (Down the horse's
head to hooves and over his back). They keep repeating this sentence so the child could
remember the letter easily. Next, they show the students some letters that begin with the
letter "H" for example Horse, Hippo, Hat. The students first spell the words, say the
sounds of the letters and blend it to a full word.
Describe some types of writing activities or the method the teacher uses for writing:
The teacher differentiates when doing writing activities, sometimes she does copy writing
for example she gives the students a paper that she wrote some words on it and she lets
the students to copy the words on their papers.
Also, she uses like dictation method, she tells the students the words and they write what
they hear. Moreover, she does an activity that has some letters and they have to create
words with these letters (she tells them the words and they have to spell and order the
letters).
