Circuit Wizard - Circuit Sheet 555 IO 3-11

The document describes a 555 monostable circuit. 1) The monostable circuit uses a 555 timer chip configured such that it will produce a single pulse at the output whenever a trigger event occurs at the input. 2) The width of the output pulse is determined by the resistor R1 and capacitor C1 according to the formula T = 1.1 x C1 x R1. 3) The document also describes how to configure the 555 chip in an astable mode to produce a continuous train of pulses, with the pulse width determined by R1, R2 and C1.
