LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, pupils can :
Learn to recognise the present simple and present
continuous, as well as stative verbs by
1)matching at least 2 out of 4 sentences using Differentiate Teaching
Present Simple and 3 out 5 sentences using Present
Continuous Tense correctly in Learning (DTL)
2) understanding and differentiatative verbs using
stative and action verbs by answering 10 out of 18
questions on Present Simple and Present Continuous
given

1. Teacher trigger the students by doing List
ACTIVITIES : i. PRE-LESSON:
O Mania. Teacher asks pupils to list down
their daily activities in the Mini White
Board . They share the findings in class. The
Differentiate Teaching
findings will be put in 2 different sections (

ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT :
2. Teacher reminds the pupils on the
different of these 2 tenses.
3) Pupils complete tasks A and B on page 9
of students’ textbook in pair. Within, 15
minutes, they share their answers with

4) Teacher explains the different between
action and stative verbs. Students draw
Bubble Map and list down the Action and
Stative Verbs

5)In pair, students answer tasks F and G on
page 9 students’ textbook.
6) To check their understanding, they have 21st Learning
to agree or disagree using mini white board
( answer given by friends)

iii. POST-LESSON : Teacher asks pupils to write two sentences


using a stative verb and the other using an
action verb in the present continuous.
Pupils do peer assessment and teacher
gives overall feedback he/she moves
between pupils’ desks.
Teacher reminds pupils that they can find Resources : Textbook
more information about today’s lesson in
Grammar Focus section at the end of the
Student’s Book (pp.162).
