This is to certify that Mr. Anant Kumar was an employee of Larsen and Toubro. Ltd. He worked with the
organization from 18th August, 2006 to 24th June, 2008.

He worked with me on various projects in the Switchgear Design and Development team.

In his role as Design Engineer, I certify that Anant Kumar performed the following tasks:

1) He was responsible for design and development of switchgear and was a team member for
design of D-Sine range of MCCBs (AC and DC) and C Power range of ACB’s of L&T. He also worked on
projects for customization of distribution board as per customer need.

2) He was responsible for interpreting specifications, drawings, standards and regulations relating
to electric power equipment for design, development, testing and usage of switchgear equipment

3) He was responsible for design arrangement of circuits, bus bars, circuit-breakers, protective
and measurement equipment and other auxiliary equipment in panels for various projects undertaken
by the team

4) He developed project plans, budgeting and worked on vendor selection for new product
development along with the team members to finalize project road maps

5) He organized and managed resources for development of electrical components, machines,


appliances and equipment needed for design and development of products

6) He was instrumental in doing research and reading papers, science journals for implementing
new technologies in switchgear equipment design

7) He filed for two patents in switchgear design during his work on projects at Larsen and Toubro
Ltd.

8) He designed test benches as well as worked with statutory testing laboratories for certification
of products (CE, CCC, IEC and UL)

9) He compiled requirements of CE, CCC, ISI, ANSI and UL for MCCBs and developed a chart for
minimum product requirements. He was proficient in understanding the standards of switchgear for
various markets

10) He studied competitor products and benchmarked L&T products to understand avenues for
improvement that exist

11) He visited Bombay Electrical Supply and Transmission Office to resolve issues that they may
have faced for product usage or functionality

He has proven his expertise in the following areas of Switchgear design

1) Arcing behaviour of switchgear contacts and arc chute under fault conditions

2) Understanding and usage of CE/CCC/UL/IEC standards

3) Design of tripping circuits : Thermo Magnetic

Mr. Anant Kumar has consistently delivered value to the projects and is fully competent to perform the
role as an Electrical Engineer
