Client

Client administration in SAP allows for independent spaces called clients that are represented by 3-digit numbers. Up to 1000 clients can be created with default clients like 000, 001, and 006 used for non-IDES systems and additional defaults like 066, 800, 811 for IDES training systems. Clients allow for organized storage of standardized data separately from customized client-dependent data like users, transactions, and business data to avoid disturbances in default clients. Transaction codes like SCC4 are used for client creation and SCC5 for deletion while SCCL and SCC9 enable local and remote copying between clients.

Client Administration

Client:

 Independent space within SAP system

 It is represented by 3-digit number 000-900
 Maximum number of clients that can be created within SAP system = 1000.
 000, 001 & 006 are default clients in Non-IDES system (Business purposes)
 000, 001, 066, 800, 810, 811, 812 are default client in IDES system
 IDES---International demonstration and Education system (Training)

Clients

What is the purpose of dividing the SAP system into clients :-

Example: --- Almira we have purchase; in case of second Almira we can store the data in more
organized manner rather than the Almira-1 and we can also retrieve data very easily because of
available section same thing is apply to the client.

Almira-1 Almira-2

Client Data: -

1) Client Independent Data (Standard Data) ----T-codes, ABAP code.

2) Client Dependent Data (Customized Data) ------Customized data is something which is created as
per client requirement---that data is not exists earlier but later it we will create it---Users,
Transactional Data, Business Data.

Some T codes related to this concept:

 SCC4—Client creation

It is recommended do not store the data of customizing and other data in the default client—000, 001,
066 because it may get disturbed if we store our customizing data into it. Use always new client which
we have created that is 100.

 SCC5—Client deletion.
 SCCL---Local client Copy---- copying within the same system we are copying from one client to
another client---000 to 100
 SCC9---Remote Client copy ---- copying from some other system in my client 100.
