First Time in This Course

Welcome to the Introduction to IoT course. As more things come online, we develop processes
to harness the vast amounts of data being generated by all these connected things.

The goal of this course is to introduce you to concepts and challenges of the digital economy.

These online course materials will assist you in developing the skills necessary to do the
following:

 Explain the impact of IoT.


 Explain the interactions between people, process, data, and things that form the Internet
of Everything (IoE).
 Configure networked devices and applications to support a given IoT implementation.
 Explain the benefits and challenges of IoT.
 Explain modeling and prototyping in IoT.

To check your understanding of the concepts explained in this course, there is a brief quiz at the
end of each chapter. At the end of the course there is a course feedback survey and an end-of-
course assessment. When both are completed, you can obtain a certificate of completion.

All quizzes and assessments can be accessed through the Modules section of the course.

Student Support and Resources

You can use your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop to access your course and
participate in discussions. However, Packet Tracer activities, as well as some other
activities, quizzes, and exams are best experienced on a PC.
