The First Principle Is That You Must Not Fool Yourself and You Are The Easiest Person To Fool"

The document discusses the importance of observation and experimentation in science. It notes that while everyone can observe things like apples falling from trees, it was Newton who observed gravity through experimentation. Similarly, Galileo experimented to show that heavier and lighter objects fall at the same rate, contrary to Aristotle's observations. The document emphasizes that observation alone can lead to incorrect conclusions, and stresses the importance of experimentation to establish reality and avoid self-deception.

Observations and experiments are base for science. All around is plain literature.

They are
kind of skills that even after studying science for 10 year or so, most of us fail to develop. We
see but we don’t observe. We think but we don’t try, we don’t experiment. Everyone could
see an apple falling from the tree but Newton observed. He observed that there is something
out there pulling everything downwards. It might sound to you quite intuitive but the fact is
even today gravity remains the least understood fundamental force. Nobody really knows
what it is or why it’s there. Aristotle thought that a heavier object falls faster than a lighter
object. But it was only Galileo who experimented.

So for the first part of this presentation we will focus on observation.

So can anyone explain this?

Okay let me reveal it. *Hovering Plane Reveal Plays*

Observation is collecting the facts but thing is often you can observe wrong. The whole point
of showing you this stuff is that you should not just believe what you see. To quote Mr.
Richard Feynman, “The first principle is that you must not fool yourself and you are the easiest
person to fool”.

So in order to not fool ourselves we must experiment. We must get our hands dirty in order
to learn reality.
