PROCEDURE FOR UPGRADING

Electronics Engineer (ECE) to Professional Electronics Engineer (PECE)

1.0. Preparation of necessary document:

1.1 Application form;


a) Attached is the copy of Application form without Examination (Form
No. 01 and 03) to be filled up for upgrading.

1.2 Attachments;
a) Valid PRC ID as Electronics Engineer or Certificate as Electronics
Engineer
b) Valid IECEP ID or Certificate of Membership in good standing from
IECEP.
c) Certified experience record of active self-practice and/or employment
either in government service or in private sector, in the format to be
prescribed by the Board, indicating the inclusive dates, companies
worked for, description of specific responsibilities, relevant
accomplishments and name, position of immediate supervisor for a
period of at least seven (7) years (inclusive and/or aggregate), at least
two (2) years of which are in responsible charge of significant
engineering work, from the date applicant took his/her oath as an
Electronics and Communications Engineer or Electronics Engineer.
d) Three (3) certification signed by three (3) PECE attesting that the
experience record submitted by the applicant is factual (not needed
for those who have been registered and licensed as ECE under R.A.
5734, for at least seven (7) years.
e) NBI clearance and for those in government service, Ombudsman
clearance.

1.3 Fees to be paid;


a) Php 900.00 - for processing
b) Php 600.00 - for registration
c) Php 450.00 - ID (3 years)

1.4 2 pcs passport size ID picture

2.0 Filing of Application Letter:

2.1 Completed application form shall be filed with PRC offices (Main or
Regional) or with IECEP offices (National or Chapters) who shall assist
with the filing of the application with PRC.
2.2 PRC upon receipt shall process the documents and shall forward papers to
the Board of Electronics Engineering for evaluation, after payment of
required fees.

3.0 Action of the Board:

3.1 Upon receipt, the board shall evaluate the documents.


3.2 The Board may require submission of additional documents or schedule
interview.
3.3 Applicant shall be informed of the Board’s evaluation.
3.4 If approved, successful applicant shall be notified accordingly.
3.5 The Board, in coordination with IECEP and upon approval by the
Commission, shall schedule a formal Oath-taking ceremony where the
New Certificate as PECE shall be given.
The Professional Seal shall also be given at nominal fees which shall be handled
by the IECEP in coordination with the Board for control and database upkeep
purposes.
