Stairs

This document contains calculations for designing the reinforcement of a stair slab. It details the geometry of the stairs including 10 risers of 150mm height and 9 treads of 300mm depth. It then calculates the loads on the slab including a service live load of 22.2 kN/m and a factored load of 51.6 kN/m. Based on these loads and the slab dimensions, it calculates the required reinforcement as 477.55 mm2 and provides 566 mm2. It also checks deflection and distribution reinforcement.

DESIGN OF STAIR SLAB

Using stair slab layout of first floor slab load to design the
stair slab
The flight of the steps from ground floor to the first floor is 10 Risers
made up of 2 set of 10 equal risers of 150mm and 9 eqaul 9 Treads
treads of 300mm. 175 waist
149 d-effective
10 Risers of 150 mm 1.50 m fcu = 20 N/mm2
9 treads of 300 mm 2.70 m fy = 410 N/mm2
Effective Span = 4.00 m
Slope length = (1.5 + 4.75 )
2 2 1/2
= 4.27 m 1000 slope width

STAIR SLAB LOAD

Gk = ((0.175x3.09)+(0.3x1.5/2))x24 = 22.200 Kn/m
Qk = 3 x 3.09 = 12.816 Kn/m
F = 1.4Gk + 1.6Qk = 51.586 Kn/m

Taking a waist depth of 175mm and 1m slope width
