LESSON PLAN IN PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

(week 1)

Date: July 4, 2018


Time: 7:30-9:00am
Strand: ABM/STEM/GAS 11

I. Objectives

A. Explain that knowing oneself can make a person accept his/her strengths and limitations and
dealing with others better.
B. Share his/her unique characteristics, habits and experiences.
C. Maintain a journal

II. Content

A. Topic: Knowing oneself


(ESP-PD11/12KO-Ia-1.1, ESP-PD11/12KO-Ia-1.2, ESP-PD11/12KO-Ia-1.3)
B. Reference: Curriculum Guide page 1, PerDev Teachers Guide page 1-4
C. Materials: Board, chalk, paper, etc.

III. Procedure

A. Motivation: NAMETAG MATCH MAKERS


Give the following directions:
a. Put your name in the center of your card.
b. In the upper left corner, write your four things that you like to do.
c. In the upper right corner, write your four favorite singers or singing groups.
d. In the lower left corner, write your four favorite movies.
e. In the lower right corner, write four adjectives that describes you.

B. Activity: SELF-CONCEPT INVENTORY


Take a look at your own self-concept and answer the following self-concept
inventory.
(The students are provided with a self-concept inventory in a separate bond paper)

C. Analysis
Look at the result of your self-concept and answer the following questions.
1. In what areas do you consider yourself strong (with score 14-16 or
somewhat weak (score of 10-13) and very weak (below 10).
2. Are there qualities you consider as your weakness but other people consider
as your strength? What are these? Check with your partner.
D. Abstraction
Let the students share their outputs and then after that the teacher will collaborate
their answers and give inputs about defining the concept of the SELF.
E. Application

Instructions/Guide questions:
1. On a sheet of paper, draw symbols /drawings that would best illustrate your
thoughts and feelings about who you are.
2. You have to work silently and finish your task within 15 minutes.
3. After the time is through, share it with your partner (2 minutes each).
 How did you feel about the activity?
 What do you think have influenced such traits or characteristics?
