Rectangular Tank Calculation Roarks Formulas

This document provides calculations to determine the thickness requirements and sizing of structural components for a rectangular steel water storage tank. Key parameters defined include tank dimensions, material properties, load assumptions, and references. Calculations are shown to determine the minimum required thickness of side plates, vertical stiffener sizing, top edge stiffening requirements, bottom plate support spacing, and top plate thickness. Total weights are also calculated for tank plates, stiffeners, nozzles, empty tank weight, and operating/filled tank weights.
