Efis A320

The document discusses the Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS) displays on Airbus A320/A330 aircraft. It describes the Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Navigation Display (ND), including the different modes the ND can operate in. It also summarizes key flight instruments and symbology shown on the PFD like the artificial horizon, airspeed, altitude, heading, and flight mode annunciator.

The FCU is one of the interface units between the pilots

and the Autoflight system

There are selectors on the FCU which will affect the

indications seen on the PFD and ND
SPEED HEADING ALTITUDE

The selectors, with associated indication, are

provided for:

• Speed,
• Heading,
• Altitude.

You will see how these selectors affect the EFIS

displays in the modules that follow.

from the back
• Sky is BLUE
• Ground is BROWN

HEADING 091

The gray compass scale

moves against a fixed

represents the centerline of
the aircraft

In the example shown the

aircraft is heading 091

TRACK 094

TRACK DIAMOND
Small green diamond
represents the aircraft track

In the example shown the

track is 094 degrees which
means that the aircraft has 3
degrees of drift to the right
Altimeter Vertical Speed

The main part of the

display is dedicated to the
Altimeter. To the far right
is the Vertical Speed
display
In the final stage of
an approach the
ground reference
ribbon will reappear
along with a landing

However, if Auto
Thrust is engaged,
you won’t need to
move the thrust lever
to control the speed

In the assessment
Auto Thrust is
engaged for you.
Localiser indicator
indicates the aircraft’s
horizontal position
relative to the
