 Start a New Project

Project Overview:

 Copy database files to project folder


 In the floor plate file re-path CS and set to Attachment
 Create Assembly for new project area and revise the Comments parameter to demolished
 Select rooms associated to assembly and modify the parameter ‘Comments’ to demolished
 Run Dynamo definition ‘My Project Filters’
 Copy Assembly to Clipboard

 Start a new project using the ‘Mayo Project Template’ file (rte)
 Paste – ‘Align to Current View’ from Clipboard
 Select Assembly and set parameter as follows:
o Phase Created – Existing Phase
o Phase Demolished – Demolished Phase
 Disassemble Assembly

 Navigate to database file and open Visibility/Graphics Overrides >Filters. Toggle off #Assemblies
 Save and Close database file
 In the new project file ‘Link’ database file (Insert Tab>Link Revit)(Origin to Origin)
 Set linked file ‘Type’ parameters:
o Toggle on ‘Room Bounding’
o Phase Mapping
 Existing – Existing
 Demolition – Existing
 New Construction – Existing
 Navigate to ‘Demolition Floor Plan’ view and open ‘Visibility Graphics Overrides’>Revit Links
o Set ‘Display Settings’ to <Custom>
o Set Linked view’ to <Floor Plan XXX FLOOR – ARCH>
o Set View filters: <By linked view>
o Set Color Fill to <By linked view>
 Navigate to ‘New Const Flr Plan’ – View tab > Scope Box
 Create new Scope Box to define limits of new construction. (Optional) Rename ‘New Const Limits’
 Run Dynamo definition ‘ Scope Box Set To View’ (close dynamo)
 Ribbon>Analyze Tab>Space
o Add spaces to existing rooms
o Ribbon>Analyze>Space Naming (Names and Numbers)

The target project is in Stabile South on the first floor and consists of demolition and new construction. Start by coping
ST01A1 and STCS from the data base into a new file folder on your hard drive.

Copy support files (Revit Database files) into Project Folder

Open ST01A1. At the opening screen in the dialog box ‘Unresolved References’ select ‘Open Manage Links to correct.

Reload the Core and Shell from the project folder and set the Reference Type to Attachment.

Create ‘Assembly’ (select items to include in assembly and review filter can).

Revise Comments to read ‘demolished’

Select rooms associated to the Assembly and revise instance parameter ‘Comments’ to read ‘demolished’ (use the filter
can to isolate room selection).

Run the Dynamo definition ‘My Project Filters’

Select the Assembly and copy to Clipboard.

Start a new project using the ‘Mayo Project Template’. Save As (to project folder) and rename.

Paste –Align to Current View’ from Clipboard into new project (Existing Floor Plan). Select the Assembly and set the
instance parameters as follows:

Disassemble Assembly

Navigate to database file and open Visibility/Graphics Overrides > Filters (toggle off #Assemblies)

Save and Close database file.

Link Database file to New Project File (Insert Tab>Link Revit)(Origin to Origin) and revise type parameters of Link as
shown below:

Navigate to ‘Demolition Floor Plan’ view and open ‘Visibility Graphics Overrides>Revit Links’ and make the following
adjustments to the database link:

 Set ‘Display Settings’ to <Custom>


o Set Linked view to <Floor Plan XXX FLOOR – ARCH>
o Set View filters to <By linked view>
o Set Color Fill to <By linked view>

Navigate to ‘New Const Flr Plan’ – View tab > Scope Box

Create a new Scope Box to define limits of new construction. (Optional) Rename ‘New Const Limits’

Run Dynamo definition ‘Scope Box Set To View’ (close Dynamo)

Select from the Ribbon>Analyze Tab>Space (add spaces to existing rooms) and select Space Naming

Start a New Work Order Project

 Create ‘New’ project in Revit: Application Menu>New>Project (2018_MayoProjectTemplate)


 Run Dynamo definition ‘Work Order.dyn’
o Creates a Work Order File
