controls, within instances of Oracle E-Business Suite: Form Rules modifies the security,
navigation, field, and data properties of Oracle EBS forms. Flow Rules defines and implements
business processes. Audit Rules tracks changes in database tables that underlie Oracle EBS.
Change Control regulates changes to field values in Oracle EBS forms. In the background,
Preventive Control Governor also provides "preventive analysis" functionality
employed by a separately installed product, Application Access Controls Governor.

ORACLE APPLICATION
ACCESS CONTROLS
GOVERNOR -
FOR E-BUSINESS SUITE
Appropriate implementation of segregation of duties (SOD) is a core tenet
of financial reporting and IT governance. Complying with access policies
using manual solutions quickly becomes unwieldy and unreliable. Oracle’s
Application Access Controls Governor (AACG) is a module within the
Oracle Advanced Controls suite which is part of the Oracle GRC Suite of
products. AACG provides automated, advanced controls that monitor fine-
grained access of all e-Business Suite (EBS users, augmenting standard user
and role provisioning to EBS applications.

Choose and license available pre-built connectors and controls, considering your
EBS configuration. AACG can also map access points across complex, heterogeneous
configurations of business applications and extends to any application system including third-
party and in-house legacy systems, thereby replacing scripts and costly manual controls. AACG
supports any authorization model including Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) and Multi-
Organization Access Controls (MOAC), In addition, AACG can be extended by any user
provisioning system. AACG workflow notifications can be extended with Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA) integration.

Future of GRC
Some customers have posed questions recently about the future of Oracle GRC as Oracle’s next-generation Fusion
applications emerge. Oracle GRC was one of the first solutions developed using Oracle’s Fusion technology.
Because Oracle GRC is installed as a separate instance from your ERP system, it has a level of independence from
E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and Fusion ERP applications. As Oracle customers adopt and upgrade to Fusion
applications, Oracle GRC will be an active player in that transition. For most customers, the adoption of Fusion
applications from the E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and other ERP systems will take place in stages. There will be an
environment where both Fusion applications and the E-Business Suite and PeopleSoft will co-exist for a period of
time and Oracle GRC will be vital to maintaining controls, configurations, and oversight consistent with the
enterprise’s policies across systems.
