The SSC CGL notification is expected to release on 21st april 2018. As the competition is
increasing day by day, therefore you must know the SSC CGL syllabus thoroughly and
strategize your preparation accordingly.
Before going into the details of SSC CGL 2018 Syllabus, lets have a look at SSC CGL exam
pattern:
SSC CGL consists of 4 stages as shown below. If you clear the Tier I cut off, then only you will
be eligible to sit for SSC CGL Tier II exam. The final merit list is prepared by adding marks of
the tiers. Therefore, you should aim for higher score. However, don't neglect the negative
marking in the exam.
The SSC CGL tier I exam is mandatory for all posts. there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks
for each wrong answer.

SSC CGL Mains or Tier 2 exam is an objective multiple-choice exam & took place in online
mode.
The Paper I will contain questions of 10th Standard level and Paper 2 will have questions of
12th Standard. Whereas Paper 3 and 4 will have graduation level questions. You have to clear
cut off of all paper then only you will be called for next stage.
SSC CGL Tier III is a descriptive paper and will test the communication skills. This exam is
only applicable for the students who have applied for the post of "Statistical Investigator
Grade II" and "Compiler".

tions, Political Deaths, GST, Appointments, Officeholders.
• Finance and Economy: Important events and the Indian and global economy, Demone-
tisation, RBI Rates, GDP Rates, Etc
• Environmental Concerns: Pollution, Overpopulation, Ecology
• Sports: Recent victories, tournaments, matches, wins, retirements
• Geopolitics: Chinese Aggression in the Indian Ocean, Syrian Refugee Crisis, Rohingya
Refugees, World Leaders
• Technology: Digital Payments, E-Wallets and UPI, Social network, etc.
The SSC CGL Tier IV Exam consists of Data Entry skill & Computer Proficiency Test. The
exam is qualifying in nature. The SSC CGL Tier IV stage is only for selected posts like TA (Tax
Assistant), CSS, MEA, and inspector.
