• Learn How to create continuous and


triggered trenders
• Learn How to collect and View Data
• Learn how to save and export Data
• Locate and Change Configurable options
Overview

Trenders allow the user to


• Collect data directly from MarkVIe controllers
or OPC Server (WorkstationST)
• Data may be collected at high speed up to
frame rate when collecting from the controller
• Graph collected data quickly and easily
• Primarily a Troubleshooting tool not intended
for long term data collection
Accessing A Trender Window

Start > Programs > GE ControlST >


ToolboxST>Trender

Right Click in the tree view of the system editor


Insert New > Tool > Trender

From the Component editor (ToolboxST) or


workstation editor (WorkstationST)
View > Trenders or <Ctrl+T>

Any Preconfigured trenders will appear


Select the preconfigured Trender’s name and
then select View
Or create a new trender by selecting Add
Adding Data to be collected (traces)

• Open a trender
• Click on the (+) icon on the trender toolbar
• Select the next button
Trender Data Collection Types

1. Live Collection – to collect live data


2. Capture Buffer / DDR – to collect data from a
controller capture buffer or Dynamic Data
Recorder
3. Static – previous collected data ie, CSV files,
DCA files, TRN files
Live Data Collection

• Select Live Radio Button


• Select Next

• Data may be collected from a controller (system


Component)
• Data may be collected from a OPC Server (WorkstationST)
• Select the System Component Radio Button and select
next

• Select a controller from the drop down box


• Select Next

• Select the rate for the data collection from the drop
down box.
• Max rate = frame rate (40 ms for HD and ICS, 20 ms for
nuclear, 10 ms Aero

Select the Add button to add a variable to the


trender

Type the name of the signal into the variable


name field
Select the variable name and select OK

Continue to add variables using the ADD button


When all variables are added select the finish

Chapters – Trender can record more than one


set of data. One set of data is a chapter.

White cursor is the active cursor
If it appears there is only one cursor then the 2 cursors are
on top of each other

event to move the cursor to the event timeline

• Edit
• Show Traces
• Checkmark means trace will be graphed
• Data for traces without checkmarks are not
deleted. The trace is just not plotted
