Sir/Madam
In recent times there’s been a high worrisome number of drownings in our community on a
daily basis from rivers, dams and residential pools.
It is very much essential for the public at large to equip themselves with the skills of
swimming for a number of reasons
It will reduce the hiking occurrence of drowns
It provides a healthier lifestyle
It can be pursued as a full time career
It’s great for recreation purposes
Furthermore the public can take several precautions to curb/prevent drowning such as
Minors/kids should always swim under adult supervision
When swimming one should always stay calm, breathe and always paddle
Beginners should always wear protective floating gear not to drown
We can’t be comfortable with this outrageous number of drowning reports in our black
community, it only perpetuates the myth that “Blacks Can’t Swim”. Our community
members across all age groups who resides in and around Keyagile should make use of
organisations that offer swimming lessons such as SWIM-BEST ACADEMY.
Yours Faithfully
