This document discusses how to effectively use teaching aids when instructing students. It recommends that teachers first get to know their students to understand their needs and learning styles. Teachers should then prepare relevant teaching aids like flashcards, puppets, costumes or real objects. When presenting the aids, they should engage the student, check for understanding and watch for signs the aid is helping or needs adjustment. Most importantly, teachers should have fun and make learning an enjoyable experience.

XECUTE THE STRATEGY
Flashcards, signal cards, picture wheel

• Consider the size of the flash cards

• Ensure that flash cards, signal cards or picture
wheels do not cover your face when you present
them
• Move the flashcard close to the camera if it is
small

Puppets, toys, realia
• Move finger puppets close to the camera
• To keep the puppet’s and toys magic, create a sense of
surprise before showing it to your student

Headbands, costume
• Costume should not be too bulky; your face should still
be seen in the camera
