Interactive Whiteboard Lesson Plan
Interactive Whiteboard Lesson Plan
Directions: Using the template below, describe how you would use the interactive whiteboard in
your future classroom. Consider if your ideas as teacher centered or student centered. The learning
activities should be engaging and meaningful to the students and to others who will view/use/benefit
from students’ work.

Description of how to implement in the class:
I would play a memory game with my students. I would put a political map of Latin America up on the
interactive whiteboard for my students to view. I would let them view it for 3-4 minutes. After time is
up, I would put up a blank pollical map of Latin America, and I would have my students come up to
the interactive whiteboard to identify what countries are what. The students would write the name of
the countries on the blank political map. After that activity, I would repeat the same process with a
physical map of Latin America.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi):
The LoTi level for this assignment is 4 because it is student-centered. The students are teaching
themselves while the teacher stands back and watches the students and only assists them when help
is needed.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
This would be my first time trying this. I have not done an activity like this before. I hope that I learn
how to do student-led instruction in the classroom. I hope my students will learn the physical and
political features of Latin America. I hope that my students will also learn how to use an interactive
whiteboard.
Importance of technology:
Using an interactive whiteboard is important in a classroom because it helps support student
learning, and it’s also a way for teachers to execute lessons in the classroom. I think interactive
whiteboards should be used in classrooms because it makes learning a little more fun. Viewing a
basic PowerPoint presentation gets old. Having a PowerPoint presentation or a lesson where
students can interact with it makes the lesson more intriguing and engaging. The only other
technology I would use with this activity would be a computer or personal device where students can
play interactive game or view an interactive lesson regarding the political and physical features of
Latin America.
Reflection:
I learned that interactive whiteboards help support student learning in different ways besides basic
instruction.
