DB58 Inject Pump Replace

This document provides instructions for replacing the injection pump on a DB58 engine. It outlines the following key steps: 1. Align the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and timing cover, ensuring the number 1 piston is at top dead center for removal and installation of the pump. 2. Check that the number 1 piston is at top dead center and the valves are in the correct overlap position before removing the pump. 3. Check that the timing marks on the injection pump and timing cover are aligned before removing and installing the pump. 4. Install the new injection pump with the timing marks correctly aligned and tighten the fixing bolts.

Injection pump replacement

DB58 engine series

May.2007
Construction Equipment BG.
Replacement of DB58 engine injection pump

1. Align timing mark with C.R.S pulley and timing cover.

• C.R.S : Crank Shaft

• T.D.C : Top Dead Center

Before remove injection pump from engine, align C.R.S. pulley timing mark and timing cover mark.
Then No.1 and No.6 piston will be T.D.C. point.

2. Check No. 1 piston T.D.C. (Top Dead Center) position.

No.1 piston must be placed on T.D.C. position of compression state – IN / EX valves have valve gap.
(No.1 cylinder IN / EX valves are closed, No.6 cylinder IN / EX valves are open - overlap position)

If No.6 piston is T.D.C. position of compression state (both valve has valve gap), rotate C.R.S. 360’ degree
(To make No.1 piston be T.D.C. position of compression state)

3. Check timing mark with injection pump indicator and timing cover mark.

Timing mark

No.1 piston is T.D.C. position of compression state, above mark will be aligned,
If No.6 is T.D.C. position of compression state, above mark will not be aligned (Need to rotate C.R.S 360’ degree)
Loose fixing bolts and remove injection pump from engine block.

4. Assemble injection pump.

(Align timing mark with injection pump indicator and timing cover mark)

Make No.1 piston be T.D.C. position of compression state and put new injection pump in engine block (above
mark must be aligned) and tighten fixing bolts.

Construction equipment stalled DE58 engine uses “OT” point only.

Injection timing is already set on new injection pump. So you must order correct parts no. of injection pump.
