and teacher of modern India and was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. It was
his wish that instead of celebrating his birthday on 5 th of September every year,
it would be better to celebrate it as Teachers’ Day all over India.
To mark the importance of this day, we celebrate Teacher’s day at VESP.
On this occasion our team organized various competitions like Poster making &
Best of Waste for 2nd year students also Technical Paper Presentation for Final

Independence 70
Our existence in this free, prosperous country is thanks to the sacrifices
made by millions of freedom fighters, who braced violence peacefully, suffered
atrocities with silent but eloquent bravery and stoically sacrificed their personal
gain for the future generations, that is all of us. The free air that we breathe in
this country is therefore the gift we got from our past few generations, who
martyred themselves so that we have a bright future.
As the students in our institute, VESP come with stars in their eyes and
dreams about the future that are going to have, it is essential that they should
know our past, the sacrifices made by the thousands of martyrs who have made
this dream possible when we remember them and understand what toil has gone
into making of our country, we understand the responsibility cast on us to use this
precious gift of freedom with care.
To mark the importance of India completing 70 glorious years of
Independence the students of VESP organized various competitions under the
event “Azadi Ke 70 Saal”
The event was successfully excecuted by Mrs. Saroj Desai, Mrs.
Shubhangi Chintawar, Mr. Tejas Shah, Mrs. Sneha Nair and Mr. Ashish Kanojia

Tea Vending Machine
This project is a tea vending machine which is used to produce tea as the
output. PLC based automation & control saves time, decrease wastage and
increases productivity. It consists of a PLC as the controller to control the
operation of the valves which are the final control elements. Operator is the
human consumer who gives commands to the controller for safe operation. Level
of the content in the tank is sensed by proximity sensor. The liquid is heated by
the heater coil for adequate time and as per the command from the controller, the
outlet valve is opened for definite time interval and tea is poured into the cup and
the valve is turned off.

Smart Traffic Signal System
The project is designed to develop a density based dynamic traffic signal
system having remote over ride facilities. During normal time the signal timing
changes automatically on sensing the traffic density at the junction but in the
event of any emergency vehicle like ambulance, fire brigade etc. Requiring
priority are built in with Android application device remote control to override the
set timing by providing instantaneous green signal in the desired direction while
blocking the other lanes by red signal for some time. Traffic congestion is a
severe problem in many major cities across the world thus it is felt imperative to
provide such Facilities to important vehicles.
The proposed system using a microcontroller of 8051 family duly
interfaced with sensors, changes the junction timing automatically to
accommodate movement of vehicles smoothly avoiding unnecessary waiting
time at the junction. The sensors used in this project are IR and photodiodes
are in line of sight configuration across the loads to detect the density at the
traffic signal. Vehicle Density Zone: low, medium, high based on which timings
are allotted accordingly.
The override feature is activated by an on board Bluetooth device from the
Android application device operated from the emergency vehicle. Remote
operation is achieved by any smartphone/Tablet etc., with Android OS, upon a
GUI (Graphical User Interface) based touch screen operation.

Moodle
MOODLE, which is an e-learning software application, serves as a
platform for giving online examination. We needed authentication which would
be robust for students who were appearing for the examination. So we choose
face Authentication. For accomplishing these requirements, the webcam
captures a photo of the student the first time he registers for the online
examination. This photo gets stored in the database at Apache. At the time of
examination, student’s photo is taken and compared with the photo in the
database. If it is the same, the student is allowed to write the exam. This makes
the authentication quite robust.

Smart Power Generation
In this modern age more and more energy required for daily consumption in all
walk of life. Sources and quantum of fossil energy are dwindling day by day and
getting exhausted at a very fast rate. Hence conservation, tapping new sources
of energy and harnessing of the same from the various non-conventional
sources, is an important aspect of energy production/ conservation and
utilization all over the world. The sky-rocketing price of crude oil has ruined the
economy of many country, hence there is a crying need for production of energy
from non-conventional sources at the earliest. The present concept is one of the
answer to this problems, as the said induced wind into useable electric energy
which can be utilized straight away or stored in batteries.
This invention relates to method for generating using high wind pressure
generated by fast moving vehicle channelling the induced wind in the direction
of the wind turbine, A fast moving vehicle compresses the air front of it and
pushes the air from its sides thereby creating a vacuum at its rear and its sides
as it moves forward. The kinetic energy of wind movement thus created can be
used to generate electricity. The moving vehicles encounters wind maybe
railway trains or air-plane, will sweep of it, in a faster manner making heavy
winds, during this, when wind turbine, if it to the moving vehicle will generate
adequate amount of energy. The air flow will cause turbine to rotate and thus
electricity can be produced.
In our world today, we are unmistakably moving towards a technological
way of life. More and more people carrying portable electronic devices than
ever before. These devices allow for unbelievable power and versatility in
communication and problem solving. But, as technology for portable has grown
tremendously, battery and energy storage technology has not kept up.
New technology allows for these portables to become smaller, but battery
size remains the same Perhaps, sometimes the battery is larger in order to
accommodate the greater power
Demands by the portable device. An alternate to batteries is to create
energy while on the go. Using piezoceramic materials is one way we can
accomplish this . These “smart materials” can convert mechanical strain energy
to electrical energy.

M M M
“A gentleman by gentle deeds is known, for a man by nothing is betrayed. As by his manners”,
said Edmund Spencer. Manners do not only constitute mere out word behaviour, but also construes
good conduct and morality. Any form of education, which doesn’t cater to imparting moral training is
incomplete, if it does not lead to a good moral character.
It is this character which gives him a ‘reputation’ by which he knows and recognized. The loss of
which was deeply bemoaned by William Shakespeare in ‘Othello’, when he said “reputation, reputation,
reputation! O! I have lost my reputation. I have lost the immortal part of myself.
”
Manners are an essential prerequisite for a good character. Education should be such which
imbibes good virtues like honesty, truthfulness, compassion. In this our parents, teachers and peer
groups have a very important role to play. A man without these qualities oh head and heart, is but a
savage.
The moral instruction starts very early in life, even before child starts going to school. They
cannot only preach, but also by precept inculcate good values in the child, whose tender mind gets
suitably moulded by the environment at home.
This is why what we find people who have either lost their parents at an early age or have had a
disturbed childhood. The background of most hardened criminals also reveals an unhappy and sad
childhood. They may adore themselves with the most expensive of dresses mannerism, action bet ray
them for who they are.
Manners thus play a significant role in a man’s life, without which he can never be a complete
man in the real sense of the world. This has been aptly summed up when we say,
“MANNERS MAKETH MAN’’

I O AG I S ’ L
Teachers play the most vital role in a students’ life after his parents. We need teachers in
all stages of life : be it the toddler age, teenage or the youth. Since childhood the teacher starts
moulding us. She is the one who inculcates moral values and ethics in us. She not only teaches
us how to add or subtract but also helps us to learn how to distinguish the good from the bad.
A teacher is a friend, guide and also a philosopher. Teacher helps you in your lows and
downs and celebrates with you in your victories just a friend. She is the one who guides you
during your thick and thins. She is the only ray of hope when your life is stuck in complete
darkness. She does not only prevent you from the evil but also illuminates your path towards
success. We all are just a lump of raw clay who needs a potter to shape them and carve them
into beautiful pots. This is where the teacher comes into the picture. She molds our character,
personality and thoughts by pampering us and at times even by scolding us just as the pot
needs to put in the oven for perfect texture.
To be a teacher you dont always need to be a teacher. There are some relations which
exist beyond a traditional student - teacher relation. A leader can also be your teacher like
Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam. Kalam Sir taught us to treat all humans with equal affection without any
discrimination. Kalam also ignited in us the vision for a progressed India. It could also be
someone like Steve Jobs who had the madness of creating a software revolution and thats
how Apple Inc. was born.
Though there is a rapid progress in technology where computers have become a
replacement for teachers. But can teachers ever be replaced?
The answer is a big NO. Computers may teach you the same concept n-number of times
but they can never know your weak points. They can never help you convert your weakness
into your strength and help you shine just as a teacher does.
Guru should always be our first priority. We should try becoming like Eklavya. For him,
Dronacharya’s wish was his command and within fraction of seconds his right thumb was
offered at Guru Dron’s feet as Guru Dakshina. This guru pornima let us all take a minute off
from our life and recollect all the people who came in our life and taught us something be it :
parents, teachers, friend or any other individual. Thank them from the bottom of your heart for
playing a small role in making you better individual
The below poem is for all those who improved my life :
