Omnisphere Encompass Guide

Thank you for purchasing Waveformless Soundware’s “Omnisphere Encompass”

bank for Spectrasonic’s Omnisphere softsynth! We’re sure you’re anxious to get
started using your new sounds, so let’s get started!
INSTALLATION
“Omnisphere Encompass” includes 128 brand new presets for Omnisphere saved as individual
prt_omn files (Omnisphere’s native preset format). The files are saved in folders according to
category which are, in turn, saved inside the “Waveformless Encompass” folder. Loading presets
in Omnisphere is initially a little more complicated than some other synths, but we’ve aimed to
make the process as quick and painless as possible below.

1. Drag the “Waveformless Encompass” folder into Omnisphere’s designated user

preset folder.

On a Mac, you’ll find this at the following path:

Macintosh HD / Library/ Application Support/ Spectrasonics/ STEAM/ Omnsphere/

Settings Library/ Patches/ User.

On a PC, you’ll find this at the following path:

C:\Program Files\ Spectrasonics \STEAM \ Omnisphere\ Settings Library\ Patches\

User

2. Load up your host program of choice and initiate an instance of Omnisphere. Click
on the patch name to open the Patch Browser.

3. THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT! At the bottom left-hand portion of the Patch
Browser, you’ll see an array of buttons. In order to access your new patches, you
need to hit the Browser Refresh button (circled below) which looks like a circular
arrow. This will make your newly installed patches available through the browser.
ACCESSING YOUR NEW PATCHES

There are two ways to access the Waveformless Soundware patches without having to sort
through the factory presets and any other sounds you might already have. For either method,
open your patch browser as the first step.

1. The leftmost window in the patch browser defaults to sort patches by Category. If you
scroll to the bottom of this, you should see a Category called “Waveformless
Encompass”. Select this, and the Browser will only display your new Waveformless
patches.

2. To the right of that window, is another category window that defaults to “Type”. Clicking
on the word “Type” will bring up a pop-up menu. Select “Author” from this menu. Scroll
down and you’ll see an Author named “Waveformless Soundware”. Select this, and the
Browser will only display your new Waveformless patches.

When you audition your new patches, be sure to check out what the mod wheel
does. It might be something subtle like changing the effect send level or adding
vibrato, or it might be something much more striking, but every single patch has
some sort of modulation assigned to the wheel.

A WORD ABOUT PIRACY
We’re not naïve. We realize that there are some of you who have downloaded this bank from a
file-sharing site or who copied it from a friend. This is simply a reality in the age of the Internet. If
that’s the case, first of all, we sincerely hope you like our sounds and find them useful in your own
work. And if you do find the patches herein inspirational and use them in your songs, we hope
you’ll consider doing the right thing and paying for the bank. Here at Waveformless Soundware,
we’re not looking to get rich, we just want to provide decent sounds at a reasonable price. We
hope you’ll agree that the 128 sounds in this bank are worth a mere $9.99. Thanks for taking the
time to read this.

Also, if you’ve downloaded these files without paying for them and suddenly find they’re useful
enough you’d like to pay for them, feel free to donate to me on PayPal at the address
[email protected] No questions asked!
