Using technology for helping ESL students in their writing assignments


Overview of the lesson: What do the participants do? What does the workshop leader do?

In this workshop participants will actively participate in learning how to use in-class tablets to help
younger ESL students in their writing assignments. Each participant will use a tablet to participate in a
hands-on activity.
The workshop presenter will model how the lesson should flow; what online resources can be used and
why is it beneficial for ESL students.
Goals/Objective(s):

Participants will have an understanding of how to make use of in-class tablets to help ESL learners.
Outcomes: (These should be measurable)

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:


1. Identify which students are in a need for additional use of technology during writing sessions.
2. Access the online writing software that makes a better outcome out of the writing sessions.
