Internet Connection Concepts: Types of Internet Connections, Security Issues on the Internet,
Email Concepts, (receiving, sending, addressing, downloading, formatting, sending attachment),
Sending & Receiving Secure E-mail, chatting, conferencing.

Configuring E-mail program, E-mail mailing list, Newsgroup, IRC, Voice mail and Video
conferencing.
Privacy issues on internet (cookies, executable Applets and scripts, blocking system), Finding
and installing Players, Plug-Ins and ActiveX controls.

Using Search engines, subscriptions and channels, making use of web resources (Portal, News
and weather, sports, Personal Financing and Investing, Entertainment, shopping, Computers and
Internet, Travel, Health and Medicine).

Blogs: Introduction, Types of blogs, blogging consequences, social networking sites.

File Transfer by Web, FTP and Peer-to-Peer.
Creating and Maintaining Web Sites: Planning, Navigation and Themes, Elements of a Web
page, steps of creating a site, publishing and publicizing g web site.

Web Commerce: Introduction to Electronic Commerce, Definition of electronic commerce, The
scope of e-commerce, Business strategy in an electronic age, Comparative advantage, Business
Strategy, business environment, e-commerce implementation.
Business to business Electronic Commerce: Inter-organizational transitions, credit transaction
trade cycle, variety of transactions, electronic markets, advantages and disadvantages of e-
markets, purchasing online, after sales online.
