Advt. No. 11/ITER-India/2009 Requires Engineers for Planning & Scheduling
The International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER, http://www.iter.org) is a 5 Billion Euro project in which
India is one of the seven members with 9.09% contribution of equipments. (This will be supplied ‘in-kind’, i.e., by building
the systems/components in India and sending them to the construction site at Cadarache in France). The activities in India are
coordinated by the Domestic Agency called ITER-India (http://www.iter-india.org). To help it in carrying out its
responsibilities for the ITER Project, ITER-India wishes to appoint Engineers in the area of Planning and Scheduling.
While these appointments are for the period of Construction phase of ITER which is about 10 years, it is likely that these will
continue further into the Operation phase which may be for another 20 years. Details of the posts are given below:
Sl.No.1 ENGINEER – SD (No. of Post 1)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engineering) in Mechanical / Production
Engineering (First Class) + minimum 4 year relevant experience or M.E. / M.Tech. In Mechanical / Production
Engineering (First Class) + minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Relevant experience as stated above in the area of Planning and Scheduling with reputed organization(s) is
required. The person should have experience of handling and execution of large projects involving integration
and commissioning of Mechanical or Electrical systems. Candidates with working experience in PRIMAVERA
software will be preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate is expected to assist in maintaining and strengthening the overall
Planning & Scheduling activity at ITER-India. The work includes ensuring detailed schedule development using
PRIMAVERA software as per the prescribed standards and best practices, regular schedule updating, schedule
analysis and management reporting, schedule integration, development of common process/activity templates,
training & maintenance of resources, interfacing with the technical teams and the ITER central teams.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: B.E./ B. Tech./ B. Sc. (Engineering) (First Class) in any Engineering
discipline / M.C.A. (First Class) with graduation in Science Stream. Working experience of 1 Year in Planning
and Scheduling using PRIMAVERA software with a reputed organization(s) is preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate is expected to work for the schedule development based on the
user inputs, regular schedule updating & progress reporting of different procurement packages using
PRIMAVERA software and other relevant tools.
GENERAL INFORMATION
PAY SCALE for ENGINEER - SD : Pay Band 3 (PB-3) Rs. 15600-39100 with basic Grade Pay Rs.6600/- (Gross Pay
Rs.38785/- p.m.)
PAY SCALE for ENGINEER – SC : Pay Band 3 (PB-3) Rs. 15600-39100 with basic Grade Pay Rs.5400/- (Gross Pay
Rs.30870/- p.m.)

after possessing the essential educational qualifications. The eligibility criteria with regard to age, qualification, experience,
etc. shall be determined as on 19/11/2009.

AGE LIMIT : 35 years and relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST candidates, 3 years for Other Backward Class and 10 years for
Physically Handicapped.
In addition to pay and allowances, Medical Scheme facility under its Contributory Health Service Scheme, Free Transport,
subsidized Canteen facilities are admissible for the above posts and perquisites like New Pension Scheme, Gratuity, LTC,
Group Linked Insurance Scheme are admissible as per Institute rules.
First Class / 3 Tier A/c. Traveling Allowance for Engineer - SD and Sleeper / Second Class for Engineer – SC to and fro Rail
/ State Transport bus fare by direct and shortest route will be reimbursed to out-station candidates called for interview on
production of ticket or proof of journey such as Railway / Bus ticket or ticket no.
