Prestressed Composite Section Design

This document provides a design summary for a prestressed composite beam section. Key details include: the beam will have a 10 inch deep girder with a 4 inch wide flange supported every 2.5 feet; materials strengths of 3 ksi for the flange concrete, 6 ksi for the girder concrete, and 60 ksi for rebar; an effective span of 25 feet; and a factored shear of 16 kips. Analysis shows the section meets strength requirements with a nominal shear capacity of 19.8 kips exceeding the factored load of 16 kips. Stresses in the flange and girder concrete are also within allowable limits.
