Glycolinjection: This Spreadsheet Calculates The Minimum Amount of Required Inhibitor Usage. Instructions

This spreadsheet calculates the minimum amount of glycol needed to inhibit gas hydrates when transporting natural gas. It takes input data on gas flow rate, pressure, temperature, and water content at different points. Based on this, it calculates the water to be removed, glycol properties, and the glycol requirement using Hammerschmidt's method. The result is the required volume and weight of commercial glycol solution, as well as hourly, daily, and daily injection rates.

Intermediate Calculations:

Water to be removed from gas (wG): 43.5 lb/MMscf

Molecular weight of inhibitor (MW)inh: 62
Density of inhibitor (rinh): 9.08 ppg
Hammerschmidt constant for inhibitor (KH): 4000
Depression of hydrate formation temperature (Dth): 25 F
