Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This is a thank-you note that I received from a students parents at the end of the 2016-
2017 school year. The note thanks me for making a positive impact on their son and
notes the impact I had on their son by giving him positive teacher attention and time.
This thank-you notes shows that I have developed a bond with this family. They are
comfortable with me and feel at ease expressing their thoughts to me. This relationship
was developed through effective and accurate communication.

Reflection on the artifact:

This thank-you note shows the culmination of a year-long communication with this
family. Throughout the year, I contacted parents for both positives and negatives. By
contacting this family on a regular basis and always being upfront, I was able to develop
a collaborative relationship and problem solve along with the family. Having a strong
relationship with your students families is a vital piece to helping students become
successful.
