1 Choose the correct word.
1 Please dont shout. 5 Whats your name?
She asked / told him not to shout. She asked / told him what his name was.
2 Can you show me the way? 6 Stop!
He asked / told her to show him the way. She asked / told him to stop.
3 Turn right at the next corner. 7 What are you doing?
She asked / told him to turn right at the next corner. She asked / told me what I was doing.
4 Dont worry!
She asked / told him not to worry.

Remember

We use tell / told when the sentence is a command or instruction.


We use ask / asked when the sentence is a request.

2 Choose the correct sentence a or b that reports what was said.
