Dear (Property Owners Name)

I am writing regarding concerns with proper protection of your property and the safety of my family.

The Fire Service has highlighted an issue with the smoke alarms in my home. The RTA says tenants must
advise their property owner if there is any issue with their smoke alarms: www.TenantsLivesMatter.org/rta

At least one of the alarms in my home is the ionisation type. Experts are calling for them to be banned.
Please watch these two TV News reports (less than 4 minutes): www.TenantsLivesMatter.org/home.html

I am aware that Queenslands photoelectric-only smoke alarm legislation does not legally require that
property owners comply until either a property changes hands, a new tenant moves in, or until 1 Jan 2022.

However, given that Queensland Fire & Emergency Services is recommending installing photoelectric
alarms as soon as possible, I respectfully ask that you please install photoelectric alarms in my home as
soon as you are able to, so your home and my family are both properly protected.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,
