Direction for questions:
A, B, C, D, E, F and G are seven persons who travel to office everyday by a particular train which
stops at five stations I, II, III, IV and V respectively after it leaves base station. Three among them
get in the train at the base station. D gets down at the next station at which F gets down. B does not
get down either with A or E, G alone gets in at station III and gets down with C after one station. A
travels between only two stations and gets down at station V. None of them gets in at station II. C
gets in with F but does not get in with either B or D. E gets in with two others and gets down alone
after D, B and D work in the same office and they get down together at station III. None of them gets
down at station I.
Question 1. At which station does E get down?
(a) II
(b) III
(c) IV
(d) Data inadequate
Answer (c)
Question 2. At which station do C and F get in?
(a) I
(b) II
(c) III
(d) Data inadequate
Answer (d)
Question 3. At which of the following stations do B and D get in?
(a) I
(b) Base station
(c) III
(d) None of these
Question 4. After how many stations does E get down?
(a) One
(b) Two
(c)Three
(d) Four
Question 5. E gets down after how many stations at which F gets down?
(a) Next station
(b) Two
(c) Three
(d) Four

Answers and Explanations

Answer 1: (c) E gets in with two others and gets down alone after D and we know that D get down
at station 3, so option c.

Answer 2: (d) Since we know that E gets in at station 3 alone and there was nobody who gets in
from station 2, therefore D may be get in from station number 1 or base station. So, there is data
inadequate so the answer should be d, because C and F get in either at Base station or station I.
Answer 3: (d) we know that B and D work in the same office and they get down together at station
III. It means they cannot get in at station 3 so they also may get it from Base station or Station 1 . So
none of these is the best answer, so option d.
Answer 4: (c) We know that E gets in with two others and gets down alone after D, B and D work in
the same office and they get down together at station III . So E gets down after three stations. So the
best answer for the question is E gets down after three stations (I, II And III).
Answer 5 : (b) We know that D gets down at the next station at which F gets down and E gets in
with two others and gets down alone after D, B and D work in the same office and they get down
together at station III. From this it is clear that E gets down after two stations at which F gets down.
Directions: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below:
B, M, T, R, K, H and D are travelling in a train compartment with III tier sleeper berth. Each of them
has a different profession of Engineer, doctor, Architect, Pharmacist, Lawyer, journalist and
Pathologist. They occupied two lower berths, three middle berths and two upper berths. B, the
Engineer is not on the upper berth. The architect is the only other person who occupies the same
type of berth as that of B.M and H are not on the middle berth and their professions are Pathologist
and Lawyer respectively. T is a Pharmacist. D is neither a journalist nor an Architect. K occupies
same type of berth as that of the Doctor.

Question 1: What is Ds profession?

(a) Doctor
(b) Engineer
(c) Lawyer
(d) Pharmacist
Question 2: Which of the following group occupies middle berth?
(a) DKR
(b) DHT
(c) HKT
(d) DKT

Question 5: Who is the Architect?
(a) D
(b) H
(c) R
(d) Data inadequate

Answers and Explanations

Analysis From the above given information, we can identify all the persons along with their
professions accept R and K. From the given information R may be a Journalist or Architect. But if we
see the given information deeply, we come to know that 6he architect is the only other person who
occupies the same type of berth as that of B. Only person means no other person rather than the
architect and K occupies same type of berth as that of the Doctor. That means K cannot be architect
because he got the same berth as D. Lastly, we come to know that the K is a journalist and R is an
architect

Now berth vise arrangement is difficult to find than the profession vise manner But as we see the
given information we come to know that the architect is the only other person who occupies the
same type of berth as that of B and we know that B is not in the upper berth so he is in lower berth
with R. M and H are not on the middle berth and their professions are Pathologist and Lawyer
respectively. Clearly they are in Upper berth and the left persons are in Middle berth So, from the
above information, we can draw a combined chart of the personas with their professions and berths:

Answer 1: (a) Doctor Answer 2: (d) DKT Answer 3: (b) R-Lower-architect Answer 4: (d) None of
these Answer 5: (c) R

1. Swimming is not scheduled on Monday

2. Shooting is scheduled on Thursday
3. Since Weight Lifting is scheduled immediately after boxing so Weight lifting cannot be on Friday
4. Since Shooting is scheduled on Thursday therefore Wrestling cannot be on Monday, because we
are given by the statement that between Wrestling and Basketball there must be two games so if
Wrestling is scheduled on Monday it will not possible for Basketball to schedule after three days
5. Boxing and Cycling are on the same day so both will be on the same day so they will be on either
Sunday or Saturday, since Weightlifting is scheduled after Boxing Therefore Boxing and Cycling
would be on Saturday and Weight Lifting would scheduled on Sunday
6. Wrestling cannot be scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday so Wresting is
scheduled on Tuesday and Basketball would be scheduled on Friday
Answer 1: (a) Basketball is scheduled on Friday
Answer 2: (e) Weightlifting and Swimming is scheduled on Sunday
