Research Proposal

Prateek Singh proposes researching digital filters for real-time denoising of biomedical signals like ECG, EMG, EEG and EOG. These signals are weak with low amplitudes and frequencies, requiring amplification for analysis, but amplification also increases noise levels. Developing effective digital filters is important to remove noise and ensure accurate diagnosis by extracting clean signals without wrong or missed information from medical professionals. Prateek will conduct a literature review to determine techniques and a final research proposal.

Area: Biomedical Signal Processing.

Abstract:

Today, biomedical signals plays a vital role in our daily life for diagnosis
and prognosis purposes. These biomedical signals are of less
amplitude and frequency signals, so it is difficult to record these
signals. To record these signals, we need to amplify so that we can
extract features. While amplifying these small signals, we face
problem as noise coupled to these signals also get amplified. It is very
important to denoise these signals as to get proper signals so that it
can not lead to wrong diagnosis or analysis by medical professionals.

These signals are namely, ECG, EMG, EEG, EOG etc. I would like to
focus my research on developing digital filter that can be used real
time for denoising the signals. Techniques and final research proposal
will be given after proper literature review.
