PREFACE
It's a matter of great satisfaction and privilege for me to present this report, the esteemed
readers, this is functioning of Lakecity Ventures/ UdaipurBlog.

This project report is an attempt to comprehend the exposure. I had of the work culture and
knowledge about the UdaipurBlog as an organization, which I acquired during 45days training
enabled me to understand the social media and digital marketing era.

It was to emphasis on and exercise "Learning by doing" I firmly believe that this type of training
gave the path for successful entrance in the corporate world.

Based on the learning and have tried my best to provide same fruitful suggestion that would be
of some help for the organization.

I anticipate that suggestions provide would prove useful for the organization and would facilities
the growth of the organization.

In this internship report I will describe my experiences during my internship period. The
internship report contains an overview of the internship company and the activities, tasks and
projects that I have worked on during this period. Writing this report, I also will describe and
reflect my learning objects and personal goals that I have set during my internship period.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The summer implant project at Digital marketing has given an exposure in doing marketing
digitally on the platform of social media. The work includes, how to search an effective way of
digitalized marketing so that we can get a proper result, it involves the study of the viewers and
their liking pattern on social networking sites mainly in Facebook and Instagram, to select the
new concept of designing.

Understanding the significance of graphics design in digital marketing on social networking


sites, so that the targeted audience can approach easily.
Experience with search engine optimization (SEO) including Google AdWords keyword
research and site search results.
During the training it was a unique experience for me because by interacting various person. The
experience which I gained by doing this project was essential at this turning point of my carrier.

and Web Management Solutions. During the time phase of 8 years, Lakecity Ventures have
established itself as a Brand Developer by starting certain ventures of City Niche which includes
UdaipurBlog.com and JaipurCityBlog.com. These brands with amazing team of 13 people have
turned it into a platform of Digital Promotion for various brands around the city to reach wider

Conceptual Framework: Theoretical Background
Of The Topic
3.1 Social Media:
Through the use of social media, people can exchange the photos and videos, share news stories,
post their thoughts on blogs and participate on online discussions. Social media allows
individual, companies, organizations, governments and parliamentarians to interact with the
large numbers of people. In conjunction with the increase of online activity, there are concerns
about the ways in which the personal information that is share by social media users may be
collected and analyzed.

The term Social Media refers to the wide range of Internet-based and mobile services that allow
users to participate in online exchanges, contribute user-created content, or join online
communities.

Websites and applications dedicated to forums microblogging, social networking, social


bookmarking, social curation and wikis are among the different types of social media.

Here are some prominent examples of social media:

Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create
profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and
colleagues. According to statistics from the Nielsen Group, Internet users within the United
States spend more time on Facebook than any other website.
Twitter: is a free microblogging service that allows registered members to broadcast short
posts called tweets. Twitter members can broadcast tweets and follow other users' tweets by
using multiple platforms and devices.
Google+: (pronounced Google plus) is Googles social networking project, designed to
replicate the way people interact offline more closely than is the case in other social
networking services. The projects slogan is Real-life sharing rethought for the web.
Wikipedia: is a free, open content online encyclopedia created through the collaborative
effort of a community of users known as Wikipedians. Anyone registered on the site can
create an article for publication; registration is not required to edit articles. Wikipedia was
founded in January of 2001.

Linkedin: is a social networking site designed specifically for the business community. The
goal of the site is to allow registered members to establish and document networks of people
they know and trust professionally.
Reddit: is a social news website and forum where stories are socially curated and promoted
by site members. The site is composed of hundreds of sub-communities, known as
"subreddits." Each subreddit has a specific topic such as technology, politics or music.
Reddit site members, also known as, "redditors," submit content which is then voted upon by
other members. The goal is to send well-regarded stories to the top of the site's main thread
page.
Pinterest: is a social curation website for sharing and categorizing images found online.
Pinterest requires brief descriptions but the main focus of the site is visual. Clicking on an
image will take you to the original source, so, for example, if you click on a picture of a pair
of shoes, you might be taken to a site where you can purchase them. An image of blueberry
pancakes might take you to the recipe; a picture of a whimsical birdhouse might take you to
the instructions.

Effects of Social Media


Positive:

1. Social networks help the businesses in a variety of ways. Traditional marketing mediums such
as the radio, TV commercials and print ads are completely obsolete now and demand for
thousands of dollars. However, with social media the businesses can connect with their targeted
customers for free, the only cost is energy and time. Through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or any
other social site you can lower your marketing cost to a significant level.

2. The increasing popularity of social sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, social networks
has gained attention as the most viable communication choice for the bloggers, article writers
and content creators.

3. These social networking sites have opened the opportunity for all the writers and bloggers to
connect with their tech savvy clients to share your expertise and articles. Your audience will
further share your articles, blog or expertise in their social circle which further enhance your
networks of the followers.

4. Social networks have removed all the communication and interaction barriers, and now one
can communicate his/her perception and thoughts over a variety of topics. Students and experts
are able to share and communicate with like-minded people and can ask for the input and opinion
on a particular topic.

5. Another positive impact of social networking sites is to unite people on a huge platform for the
achievement of some specific objective. This is very important to bring the positive change in
society.

Negative:

1. One of the negative effect of social media or network is it leads to addiction. Spending
countless hours on the social sites can divert the focus and attention from a particular task. It
lowers the motivational level of the people, especially of the teenagers and students. They mainly
rely on technology and the internet instead of learning the practical knowledge and expertise of
the everyday life.

2. Kids can be greatly affected by these social networking sites if they are allowed to use them.
The reason is that sometimes people share photos on social media that contains violence and sex,
which can damage the behavior of kids and teenagers. It put the negative impact on overall
society as these kids and teenagers involve themselves in crime related activities.

3. Another downside of the social media is that the user shares too much information which may
pose threats to them. Even with the tight security settings your personal information may leak on
the social sites. Downloading your videos or pictures and copying your status is an easy task and
can be done within few clicks.

3.2 Digital Marketing:
Digital marketing is the process of building and maintaining customer
relationships through online activities to generate sales and/or capture customers
that are searching on the Internet for answers.

Digital marketing is an umbrella term for the marketing of products or services using digital
technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and
any other digital medium.

The way in which digital marketing has developed since the 1990s and 2000s has changed the
way brands and businesses utilize technology and digital marketing for their marketing. Digital
marketing campaigns are becoming more prevalent, as digital platforms are increasingly
incorporated into marketing plans and as people use digital devices instead of going to physical
shops.

Digital marketing activities are Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing
(SEM), content marketing, influencer marketing, content automation, campaign marketing,
and e-commerce marketing, social media marketing , social media optimization, e-mail direct
marketing, display advertising, ebooks, optical disks and games, and any other form of digital
media. It also extends to non-Internet channels that provide digital media, such as mobile phones
(SMS and MMS), callback and on-hold mobile ring tones.

Ways to further increase the effectiveness of digital marketing


A strategy that is linked into the effectiveness of digital marketing is content
marketing. Content marketing can be briefly described as delivering the content that your
audience is seeking in the places that they are searching for it. It is found that content marketing
is highly present in digital marketing and becomes highly successful when content marketing is
involved. This is due to content marketing making your brand more relevant to the target
consumers, as well as more visible to the target consumer.

Advantages of digital marketing:
Global reach - a website allows you to find new markets and trade globally for only a
small investment.
Lower cost - a properly planned and effectively targeted digital marketing campaign can
reach the right customers at a much lower cost than traditional marketing methods.
Track able, measurable results - measuring your online marketing with web
analytics and other online metric tools makes it easier to establish how effective your
campaign has been. You can obtain detailed information about how customers use your
website or respond to your advertising.
Personalization - if your customer database is linked to your website, then whenever
someone visits the site, you can greet them with targeted offers. The more they buy from
you, the more you can refine your customer profile and market effectively to them.
Openness - by getting involved with social networking and managing it carefully, you
can build customer loyalty and create a reputation for being easy to engage with.
Social currency - digital marketing lets you create engaging campaigns using different
types of rich media. On the internet these campaigns can gain social currency - being passed
from user to user and becoming viral.
Improved conversion rates - if you have a website, then your customers are only ever
a few clicks away from completing a purchase. Unlike other media which require people to
get up and make a phone call, or go to a shop, digital marketing can be seamless and
immediate.

Disadvantages:
Although, internet marketing allows you to promote your business targeting global customers,
the set-up cost of a website is too high. Further, you need to spend more time on choosing
attractive layout for your website.

There are several customers still not aware of internet. Some people prefer buying products on
store instead of buying it online.

The rule of trading in internet changed rapidly. It needs constant attention and surveillance to
make sure the marketing strategy really works.
When comes to online, you need to be aware of fraudulent activities and online scam.
Spamming is one of the prime challenges for online marketing and confidential data can be
easily hacked.

3.3 Graphics Design


Graphic design is art with a purpose. It involves a creative and systematic plan to solve a
problem or achieve certain objectives, with the use of images, symbols or even words. It is visual
communication and the aesthetic expression of concepts and ideas using various graphic
elements and tools.

Elements of Graphic Design


Graphic design can use image-based designs involving photos, illustrations, logos and symbols,
type-based designs, or a combination of both techniques. These designs can include various
combinations of the following elements.

Lines: Straight, curved, wavy, thick, thin - when it comes to lines, the possibilities are limitless.
Lines allow designers to divide a space or separate content in a layout. They can also be used to
guide the eyes of the viewer, or make other elements follow a strategic path for added find
ability, to get the viewer easily from point A to point B.

Shapes: Shapes offer a variety of ways to fill spaces creatively, to support text and other forms
of content, and to balance a design. Shapes can be created out of nothing, using white space to
give a design structure and clarity.

Color: Color, or the absence of color, is an important element of any design. With a solid
understanding of color theory, designers can amazingly influence a design and a brand,
seamlessly integrating color boldly or with brilliant subtlety.

Type: Type can transform a message from mere text to a work of art. Different fonts, combined
with customized alignments, spacing, size, and color, can add power to the point you are
communicating to the world.

Texture: Even a smooth and glossy advertisement can seem tangible with texture. It gives a
sense of a tactile surface through its visual appearance and adds a sense of depth, enhanced by
selection of appropriate paper and material.

Professional designers possess a creative mind with an artistic inclination, and so much more.
Keen observation skills and analytical thinking are essential tools for graphic design, before they
dig into their physical tool kit and touch pen to paper or stylus to tablet. Designers employ a
variety of methods to combine art and technology to communicate a particular message and
create an impressive visual.

Sketchpads: A traditional tool used to sketch out ideas; it is the quickest way to jot down the
rough designs, which designers can develop further using other tools and technologies.

Computers: Computers now occupy an essential place in every designer's tool kit. Hardware
such as tablets allow designers to expand their creative freedom and maintain that sketchpad feel.

Software: Technology has opened new doors for realizing creative vision. Specialized
software such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Canva can help to create illustrations, enhance
photographs, stylize text, and synergize all of the pieces in incredible layouts.

Graphic Design communicates your brand and message visually with impressive business logos,
enchanting brochures, newsletters with impact, and stunning posters.

Travel Tips, Reviews, Issues and More in Udaipur city itself or nearby udaipur.
It is the first Professional Blog Media of Udaipur where Udaipurites can join in and bring about a
change and spread a new Fresh Wave of thoughts by contributing their valuable Thoughts and
Insights.

And in this growing world of Social Media UdaipurBlog has made a mark of the Ever-growing
Social Networking sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter being the First City Blog of its
Kind which makes it a Smart Brand with support of Thousands of people who like it and love it.
UdaipurBlog is not a Venture of Few People it is a Blog of the People, For the People and By the
p eople who want Udaipur to Outshine its Value Online.
Now UdaipurBlog functions under his vision of promoting Udaipur City, Brands, People,
Startups from Udaipur Online through various Social Media Platforms.

Social Media Marketing (SMM): Social Media Marketing is a form of internet,


marketing that utilizes social networking websites as marketing tool. The goal of SMM is to
produce content that users will share with their social network to help a company increase
brand exposure and broaden customer reach.

One of the key components of SMM is social media optimization (SMO). Like search engine
optimization (SEO), SMO is a strategy for drawing new and unique visitors to a website. SMO
can be done two ways: adding social media links to content, such as RSS feeds and sharing
buttons or promoting activity through social media by updating statuses or tweets, or blog posts.

SMM helps a company get direct feedback from customers (and potential customers) while
making the company seem more personable. The interactive parts of social media give customers

the opportunity to ask questions or voice complaints and feel they are being heard. This aspect of
SMM is called social customer relationship management (social CRM).

SMM became more common with the increased popularity of websites such
as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, and YouTube. In response, the Federal Trade
Commission (FTC) has updated its rules to include SMM. If a company or its advertising agency
provides a blogger or other online commenter with free products or other incentives to generate
positive buzz for a product, the online comments will be treated legally as endorsements. Both
the blogger and the company will be held responsible for ensuring that the incentives are clearly
and conspicuously disclosed and that the blogger's posts contain no misleading or
unsubstantiated statements and otherwise complies with the FTC's rules concerning unfair or
deceptive advertising.

Content Management: Content management is a set of processes and technologies that
supports the collection, managing, and publishing of information in any form or medium. When
stored and accessed via computers, this information may be more specifically referred to as
digital content, or simply as content. Digital content may take the form of text (such as electronic
documents), multimedia files (such as audio or video files), or any other file type that follows a
content lifecycle requiring management. The process is complex enough to manage that several
large and small commercial software vendors such as Interwoven and Microsoft offer content
management software to control and automate significant aspects of the content lifecycle.

Content management is an inherently collaborative process. It often consists of the following


basic roles and responsibilities:

Creator responsible for creating and editing content.


Editor responsible for tuning the content message and the style of delivery, including
translation and localization.
Publisher responsible for releasing the content for use.
Administrator responsible for managing access permissions to folders and files, usually
accomplished by assigning access rights to user groups or roles. Admins may also assist and
support users in various ways.
Consumer, viewer or guest the person who reads or otherwise takes in content after it is
published or shared.

They provide information about what actually happens in the city present and future events.
Interviews of some famous personality; describe the beauty of city its famous monuments,
gardens, places, foods on their website. They provide daily news of the Udaipur under the head
of UB news. They share many videos of Udaipur famous and non famous places which mostly
visited by the tourists so more and more tourists came to Udaipur and visit at once.

4.2 Role Assigned
Digital Media Marketing Intern
As in digital marketing intern I did promotion on their social network page that is on facebook
and instagram. Prepare creatives for clients as per their requirement and post it on page and
simultaneously promoted the UdaipurBlog page.

Graphics designing

For preparing creatives the term is known as Graphics Designs. These designs are published on
one of the most famous social media site Facebook. On Facebook there is a page known as Best
Things in India for that particular page I had to do the graphics designs related to topic famous
facts about India. So that many user of the Facebook whether he/she is in India or outside can
easily know the facts of India. Currently there are near about 42000 likes on the particular page.

For designing we used Canva Empowering the world to design the online software of
editing. It is easy to create an album but difficult to choose the topic. Selection of topic is based
on viewers liking and sharing habits or current situation like festival, celebration, weather etc.
For the page Best Things in India I prepared 30 designs, some are published on that page. The
published topics are listed below:

In social media marketing I had to invite the people on the on the page of Best Things in India so
that the visitors of the page is increased.

On Udaipurblog and Instagram page post daily images which are clear in pixels with a proper
content written with that so that viewers get attracted. All promotional messages are sending
through sms gateway according to the schedule or else some special offer declares by the clients.

1. Posting the images and manage the page.

2. Daily invitations send to the public.

3. Gave proper response to viewers.

In graphics design posting on facebook page we got a good response from the viewers. 2 topics
of mine which I designed were getting a remarkable response. Till the date- September 1, 2016.

CONCLUSION
Lakecity Ventures/ UdaipurBlog have offered me opportunities to learn and develop myself in
many areas. I gained a lot of experience, especially in the Graphics Designing field. A lot of the
tasks and activities that I have worked on during my internship are familiar with what Im
studying at the moment. I worked in many areas where I did different work. This gave me the
chance to find out which areas I want work in after my education.
The area that I found most interesting is digital marketing. I learned many things about digital
marketing by using and learning about social media tools.
As a bonus, I got to experience that how graphics are designed for the companies. I learned how
the marketing and promotional activities occur. I also learned how manage the facebook page.
Before my internship started my ideas did not match the experiences have gained during my
internship. There is a big difference in the college projects and the tasks and activities during the
actual work. In college we learn how to describe the work in projects, where in work you learn
how to implement them in reality. This internship was definitely an introduction to the actual
work field for me. I have learned to work in a business organization and apply my knowledge
into practice.
I learned a lot from the different interns that I have been working with during my internship.
Each intern had a different educational background and that made it interesting for me. By
working with them I got to learn from them and become aware educational background.
