International Womens Day Celebration 2017

WEN in IWD2017: A Forum

In support of the Celebration of the International

Womens Day 2017, the Women Engineers Network
(WEN) of the Philippine Technological Council (PTC)
has tied up with the Department of Public Works
and Highways (DPWH) in the observance of the
said activity.

The theme of the IWD2017 is

#BeBoldForChange, that is a call to yourself and
ourselves to help forge a better working world a
more gender inclusive world. Although, the general
gender parity gap in the Philippines in quite closer
compared with other ASEAN countries as reported
WEN Officers with Usec. Cabral by World Economic Forum, but this parity gap
would be absolutely wider in the engineering
profession.

The Women Engineers Network (WEN) of the Philippine Technological Council initiated a bold
pragmatic action to accelerate gender parity. The Filipina engineers can collectively help advance
and unleash the limitless engineering potentials to the development of the Philippines and the
world over.

The forum was held at the DPWH Multipurpose Hall, 5th floor on March 8, 2017. It was a whole
day event where foods/ meals were served.

A total of 205 women engineers from the DPWH Central and Regional Offices, Acadame,
representatives and members of WEN and various organizations like Institute of Electronics and
Communication Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP), Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers
(PSAE), Philippine Institut of Civil Engineers (PICE), Philippine Institue of Chemical Engineers Inc.
(PICHE), Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines (GEP), Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers
