WARNING - AUTHENTICATED SOFTWARE
Many users of Sepura radios expect increasing levels of security in these radios and the
software within them to provide secure communications. It is therefore vital that this software
does not include Trojans and other viruses. As well as providing a secure platform for users
this is also a requirement for the accreditation of national bodies and for achieving
international security standards such as FIPS.

To provide this level of security, Version 10.11 and subsequent software

releases will be protected by digital signatures.

OVERVIEW
Version 10.11-001 is a release of software for all frequency bands of the STP8000, STP8100,
STP8200, STP9000, STP9100, STP9200, STP8X000, STP8X100, SRH3900 & SRG3900
platforms. This release adds functionality to previously released versions of software.

This release is not available for;

Airwave network users in the UK and
BDBOS network users in Germany.

SOFTWARE LICENSES

Licensing restrictions applicable to the Radio software contained in this release are
defined in ref [2].

RELEASE RESTRICTIONS
This release is not available for Airwave network users in the UK.
This release is not available for BDBOS network users in Germany.
It is advised not to use the feature PTT Queue in DMO. Parameter [3662] should be
set to disabled. Please refere to MOD-10-1207 for a description of the feature.
While the radio is in Transmit Inhibit mode in DMO and a Quick Group is selected
using the soft key, an attempt to setup an alarm call is then rejected. Sepura does not
support changing of talkgroups while the radio is in Transmit Inhibit mode and adivse
the users not to invoke talk group selection via the soft key.

SHORT DATA APPLICATIONS
From V7.0 onwards, Short Data applications are available to make the sending and receipt of
SDS message an effortless task by presenting the user with information in a form that is
simple and easy to read. This feature follows on from the SDS Templates functionality
provided in V5.0, enhancing it by providing the ability for customers to define their own
templates, supporting user defined protocols and applications. Short Data Applications can be
downloaded to the Terminals by the Radio manager.

Creating a Short Data application, requires a knowledge of the SDS

protocol that is being implemented as well as a familiarity with principles of
software programming. Creating Short Data Applications should not be
attempted unless the user is familiar with both of the above criteria. Please

UPGRADING THE RADIOS WITH VERSION 10.11-001

Instructions on how to load Version 10.11-001 into radios are contained in ref [7].

Caution:
Version 10.11-001 enables signature checking on radios. Downgrading from
Version 10.11-001 to an earlier version of Unsigned software will render radios
inoperable

NEW FEATURES
The new features listed below are provided as part of this release of Version 10.11-001.

KEYPAD LOCK
In this release, the Select (Green) key and the Navi-knob are also available to participate in
incoming calls or change the volume level. Additionally, new methods to lock the key pad
have also been introduced.

FULL DUPLEX AUTO ANSWER

The radio can automatically accept an incoming Full Duplex call without the user having to
press the Select (Green) key. The radio enters the full duplex call if the user does not answer
the call before the auto answer timer expires.

WAP URL IN SDS

A WAP URL can be sent to the radio using an SDS message. The user can either open the
link himself or configure the radio to automatically open it as the message arrives.

BLUETOOTH AUTO CONNECTION

Radios can automatically accept Bluetooth connecton request from Trusted devices without
prompting the user.

BLUETOOTH PTT
Support for ETSI standard TETRA PEI command (AT+CTKST) which can be used for PTT
press and release is provided in this release. Headsets with PTT and supporting the
command as an extension to the Headset Profile (HSP) can operate with Sepura radios and
participate in Half Duplex PTT voice calls

BLUETOOTH PAIRING WITH DATA DEVICE

In this release, a radio can initiate a pairing process with another Bluetooth data device. This
includes the ability to first search the available data devices followed by the pairing process
from the Device card within the Bluetooth menu.

AUDIO ROUTING ON LINK FAILURE

A pre-configurable option mutes the radios loudspeaker and internal earpiece. If any wired
accessory is attached to the radio then the audio is output to that accessory.

SECURE DATA ON MICRO SD CARD

In this release, data (images) can be loaded onto the card without having to remove it from
the radio. For added data protection the data is stored in encrypted format on the card.
