Letter from your VP..1
Vice President... Key Club Corner..2
Hello, my name is Kathryn Enriquez. I am your new Vice Events Near You..3
President as well as the Division Fundraising Coordinator. I am
proud to be serving my home, school, and community through
Key Club International. I have hope that this term will be the best
that La Costa Canyon Key Club has ever seen.
Seeing a school year pass causes excitement to pour out of
students. For me, this summer is one of realization and ensuing
change. Now that my first year of high school is here and gone, I
am reflecting upon it. My study habits, organization style, and
time management are all being questioned made more efficient
to ensure the best use of my time. This school year has been one
of growth and change. I have discovered my Key Club Moment
and become a part of many things bigger than myself. As Key
Clubbers, we discover more about ourselves each and every
year. We strengthen our leadership abilities and discover new
ways to lead our students and our community through Key Club.
I hope this term we are able to balance and perfect these
defining traits and what comes with them together.
WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER

Balance It is not something that we typically think about, but
it is crucial to life as we know it. If this rock that we live on was
slightly off balance, we could be hurled toward the fiery sun or
cast out of our solar system into the abyss. We use balance
every day. If you are an athlete, you use balance without even
giving it a second thought. You depend on your feet to be
underneath you as you sweat through that final sprint or score
the winning goal. As an artist, you depend on balance to keep
your hands steady as you paint the picture or allow the thrown
pot to maintain its shape. As a writer you strive to gingerly
balance your ideas with the words appearing on the page.
These balancing acts are frequently taken for granted, not
another thought to be given .
As Summers long days are stretching out and as we try to
focus on vacationing, spending time with friends, or improving
our techniques in athletics or academia, I challenge you to
think about balance. Your hyper focus on things that you want
often leads you to be out of balance for things that you see.
There are opportunities abound in your community or the
places you visit to encourage balance within your community.
These opportunities are opportunities of service. To give to
someone to restore balance. I encourage you to look around
you to see how small efforts that you perform can provide
balance to things around you.
Taking time to restore this balance provides an opportunity for
a higher sculpture allowing us all to reach higher and be more
successful. So, as you are lazily lying in bed thinking that you
finally have no homework and no where to be, think about what
you can do to restore this balance. Think about how high you
want to reach, not only as an individual, but as a community.
Think about your contribution and what it means to everything
around you. Because, as always.. We are better together.
