Cpu - Aslaughter

Mrs. Slaughter outlines a classroom use policy for technology that requires students to only use computers for academics, access appropriate sites and material, follow copyright laws, not download anything without approval, protect personal information, respect classroom property, and avoid food and drink by computers. Violations may result in limited internet access, office referrals, or legal involvement, as technology use is a privilege governed by district and classroom policies. Students and parents must sign agreeing to follow the policy.

Mrs.

Slaughters Classroom Use Policy

Having technology in our middle school science classroom enhances the academic knowledge and information
acquired by students. Learning through technology is filled with limitless possibilities, and therefore comes
with immense responsibility. We are honored to have technology in our classroom and look forward to using it
to enrich our experience as we progress through the school year. ~ Mrs. Slaughter

I will
1. Use the computers for academics only.
2. Send messages and/or access material that is appropriate for school.
3. ONLY visit approved internet sites and use approved search engines.
4. Obey all copyright laws.
5. Not download anything unless approved by my advisor.
6. Never give out personal information.
7. Never change, erase, or remove any software or systems on the computer (Dont
change wallpaper, screensaver, preferences, etc.)
8. Make sure I leave my work space as I found it.
9. Respect our classroom property. (DO NOT bang mouse, hit screen, etc.)
10. Never bring food and/or drink around the computers.
Misuse of the Internet may result in one or more of the following consequences:
(Parents will be contacted via phone, e-mail, or letter when a violation occurs)
Limit or loss of access to the Internet. (Length will depend upon the violation and # of incidences)
Office Referral
When appropriate, law enforcement agencies may be involved.

***Per our district policy, use of technology and the internet is a privilege, not a right! To keep your privileges,
you must follow district and classroom use policies. Please report any violation of policies.

I agree to follow the Classroom Use Policy (CPU) at all times and understand the consequences.
