E-Phonics Lesson Reflection

The lesson aimed to help students learn the sounds of letters to help with reading and writing. The teacher felt she did well involving students by giving stickers for correct answers and playing a song with sound actions. She needs to work on classroom management, as students fought over blocks when allowed to choose their own centers. For the next lesson, her focus will be on using effective classroom management strategies like MST that students are familiar with.

Overall aim and context of the lesson
Study the sound of every letter to help them to read and write.
Choose two aspects from the competency areas to evaluate and discuss
(one paragraph each) according to following:

1. discuss one aspect that you feel you did very well. Try to
analyse why you think it worked well and what hints you would
share with other teachers about the successful strategy/
resource/activity/management style etc.

Positive aspect of the lesson:

That the student involves with me, because I was give them stickers when they
answer me, also I played a song of sounds for them, who was sing and do the
actions I put for him a sticker on his t-shirt.

2. elaborate on the aspect identified by you that requires

attention. Discuss what the problem was, why it occurred and
what action you intend to take to be more successful in the next
lesson.

Requires Attention:
I choose 18 students and I distributed them in 4 groups and I told the rest 6 students to
choose their centers, and they choose to play with blocks in carpet then they fight with
each other. I think the student fight because everyone want to play with the blocks alone.
Also, because I shouldnt let them to choose their center, I should to choose it for them.

3. outline the personal focus and goal of the next lesson.

Personal focus for the next lesson:

I will try to use more classroom management that I know it will work with them
such as the strategy of the MST because the student knows it because use it
every day.
