Choose a piece of authentic text (or collect a selection from your


tutor) to practise a receptive skill and/or sub-skill. Describe the
reasons for your choice & the level at which you would use it.
Design a task in relation to the text you have chosen & describe the
way you would use this material in a 50-60minute lesson. Show
evidence of background reading in the topic area by referring to
information from one or more sources.

Say what material you have chosen & why.


Briefly describe the reasons for your choice & the level at
which you would use it.
Identify the receptive language skills and/or sub-skills that can
be practised using this material. Design tasks which
specifically practise these skills / sub-skills and give a brief
rationale.
Identify the productive skills that can be practised and
developed in relation to the text you have selected. Design
tasks which specifically practise these skills and give a brief
rationale.
Outline the stages of the lesson and the activities you would
use.
Outline any follow-up lessons you might teach.
Include a copy of the material you have chosen and a
completed lesson plan form.
Include a copy of any handouts you would give in class. Eg. If
you would set gist questions, please list the actual questions
you would ask. You may use this plan for one of your final
teaching practices.
