Tip # -Increase number of Design Iterations

Topic Objective
To increase number of design iterations for an Optimization run.

Topic Details
In OptiStruct, by default the number of iterations carried for an Optimization setup is 30. For few
models 30 iterations may not be sufficient to get a converged optimization results.

Follow the below procedure to increase the number of iterations for a optimization run:

Go to Analysis page and click on Optimization.


Click on opti control
Activate the DesMax=
By default the number in the field next to DesMax is 30
Give a number above 30 (say 50 to increase the no. iterations to 50)
Click return to exit the panel
You can see optimization control in the model browser.
The number of optimization iterations is increased to 50 from 30.
