AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Please bring a photo and resume.
Prepare a short contemporary monologue in the style of the show. Monologue from show
is welcome.
Character List
Thyona: Bride, the oldest sister, proud feminist with a firm belief in right and
wrong, her strong-willed demeanor overpowers her deeply caring spirit. Hatches the
plot to kill the grooms on their wedding night. Betrothed to Constantine.

Olympia: Bride, the youngest sister, sweet and somewhat silly, longs to be in love
with being love. Betrothed to Oed.

Lydia: Bride, middle ground between her two sisters, smart, sensitive, but strident,
passionate belief in love and law. Betrothed to Nikos.

Constantine: Groom, the oldest brother, full of swagger and smarts, hyper-
masculine ego covers a caring and questioning soul, a wannabe misogynist without a
clue what that means.

Oed: Groom, the youngest brother, not very bright, but very lovable.

Nikos: Groom, equal parts sensitive and macho, a secretly sensitive guys guy that
longs for a real connection with Lydia.

Piero: Owner of the Italian manor providing sanctuary to the brides, a businessman
with a belief in justice and love, affable charm and natural bravado.

Bella: Old woman, mother of Piero. Has thirteen sons and had a wonderful
marriage. Wise, loving, and feisty.

Giuliano: Grandson of Bella. Gay and fabulous. A sweet soul that longs for passion
and adventure.

Leo and Eleanor: A frisky and fun American couple, evidence that love is worth the
fight. Playful, big-spirited, and caring.

*Please note that although auditioning in the fall semester, Big Love will cast in
conjunction with Sweet Charity and Uncle Toms Cabin in the spring. Thank you.
