1. The PEC meeting discussed standardizing medical supply usage and the tender process for contracted supplies. 2. 1 Introduction by : 1. GF a At this moment consumptions of Medical Supplies have not


been standardized all. CGP is trying to standarize the
general usage by assistance and approval from PEC
member.

b Consumption for certain product which should be purchased


in a box , can not be partial (e.g suture) will cause difficulties
for hospitals with small quantity usage, which will cause
overstock.

2. JM a It's not easy to standardize the existing product used, but If


we don't start from now to change the habit of user the
standardization will never work.

b Standardization will start from general usage which is not


non-contentious such as : glove, surgeon cap, mask, diaper
etc. The purpose of standardization is to achieve quality
standardization, cost savings (efficiency) by consolidating all
hospitals needs, reduce too many brand and stock level .
c Standardization for safety system (eg: syringe, needle, etc)
has not been presented yet for consideration as although
this will be the way for the future. It is not budgeted and will
cost quite a lot in ongoing costs.

2 Tender Process CGP has conducted the process tender as follows:

3 Contracted Medical CGP has submitted the tender letter to 41vendors, and only
Supplies 22 vendors were selected to follow the tender. From 22
vendors, 8 vendors will process for signing contract. The rest
is still in process for negotiating.

Following is the items will be contracted :

4 Discussion of standarized Currently for 1 product there's 2 or 3 brands for the same
general usage function. PEC member discussed together with the
representative team from each hospital to decide what brand
will be used for all the group.

Although this is very hard to implement, but it


should be implemented strictly undisturbed by
user.
Determination and approval for standarized
product is from PEC member, so if there's All
complaints from user, we should explain to
them that is PEC's decision.

GF suggests to solve this problem by


centralizing purchasing for certain item by
CGP (Corp Group Purchasing), and then
distributed to all hospitals accordance with CGP
their needs. The inventory will store at SHLK
warehouse. CGP can then control the stock.

This needs process to change it. CGP will work


the process step by step by assistance from CGP & PEC
PEC member. CGP will try to work more Member
productive and achieve the efficiency.
In the future we will develop costings and
proposals for implementation of safety needle
systems. Note
